Brokenville is personal account of growing up on Bougainville in Papua New Guinea during the ten-year civil war that raged following the forced closure of the Panguna Mine by the Bougainville Revolutionary Army.

A collection of 16 short stories from Bougainville, in the South Pacific. Bougainville was thrown into turmoil in the late 1980s due to opposition to a giant mine run by CRA. These stories are written by a writer who experienced the subsequent civil war in which up to 15,000 people were killed.

Leonard Fong Roka comes from Panguna on Bougainville. This compilation of essays was made between 2013 and 2014 and first appeared on the website, Keith Jackson & Friends: PNG Attitude. The essays outline the history of Bougainville, including the civil war in the 1980-90s, and suggests a way forward towards eventual independence from Papua New Guinea.
