In 1982, fifteen small-aircraft pilots gathered at the humble municipal airport of the little town of Salem, Indiana to form a new association. They called it the "Washington County Pilots Association," and its stated mission was "to foster a better relationship between area pilots and the greater community of Salem/Washington County." During that first meeting, the group put forth ideas for future community activities, fly-ins, fundraisers, airport improvements, and guest speakers to inform, engage and inspire the pilots. Over the ensuing decades, the WCPA continued growing steadily in membership and influence, spreading the joy of aviation throughout the area. Its Aviation Awareness Days brought a well-organized and exciting annual air show to the citizens of Washington County. The group's picnics and other recreational events put out the welcome mat for anyone in the community who wanted to join their fun. Experienced WCPA pilots mentored young people who showed an interest in flying. Improvements were continually made to the airport, thanks mainly to the volunteerism of the WCPA members. Salem Airport became a standard-bearer among the national aviation community, not only because of its innovations in infrastructure and its outstanding air shows, but because of the strong community spirit among the WCPA members and its friendly outreach to the general public. This book lays out the story of aviation in Salem from the viewpoint of the WCPA's meeting minutes, newsletters, and photographs. These and the other historical documents herein provide a window into the determination and heart of these dedicated volunteers and their tireless efforts to foster the love of aviation in Washington County.
"Let Us Therefore Come Boldly" traces all the places in the New Testament in which the Greek word "parresia" (boldness, confidence) is used. Each occurrence of the Greek word is explored in an English-friendly manner, under the assumption that the reader has had no prior experience with Greek. Every scripture which contains the word "parresia" is presented in its own section, with each section containing a Word Study Table displaying the Strong's number, Greek spelling, transliteration, translation and grammatical parts of speech for each word in the scripture. Following the Word Study Table for each scripture, the author provides commentary which brings out the rich layers of meaning behind the Greek word "parresia" within the full context of the passage. The book's user-friendly format makes it ideal for both individual study and group Bible study. As the reader explores each occurrence of "parresia" throughout the entire New Testament, one layer of meaning builds upon another to provide a complete picture of the many nuances of "parresia"... from boldness, to openness, to plainness or exactness of speech, to freedom or liberty in speech, to presenting oneself publicly rather than being concealed. This book provides any reader the opportunity to carry out a thorough Greek word study such as those commonly performed by Greek scholars or highly educated pastors, teachers and theology students -- without having to first master the Greek language. Throughout the book, the reader is encouraged to make personal application of the truths of these scriptures, specifically in submitting his or her will to the power of the Holy Spirit, thereby finding the supernatural confidence and boldness required to carry out God's perfect will. Simultaneously, the reader is encouraged to put aside false or excessive confidence in his or her own human abilities, and to boldly approach God to ask for His help in all situations.

(This is Volume 3 of a three-volume set.) The Phrase-by-Phrase Harmony of the Gospels presents a visual, side-by-side arrangement of every phrase of the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, in chronological order. Building on the foundation of centuries of great Bible scholarship, this is a new and unique approach to studying the events of the gospels in detailed chronological order. Rather than presenting entire passages from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John in whole paragraphs, this harmony permits the reader to compare each individual fact and detail side by side in table format. Every phrase of every gospel is aligned side by side with the corresponding phrases in the other gospels. Each event of the gospels includes its own geographical map and graphical timeline to assist the reader in keeping track of where and when each event occurred, along with archaeological or historical notes wherever applicable. For each event, a blended narrative is provided, which contains every fact and detail of all four gospels merged into a single, readable, chronological account. Author commentary clarifies difficult or problematic texts. An appendix contains cross-referenced lists to enable the reader to quickly locate any passage of scripture in the Harmony. While this series makes an excellent devotional guide for individual daily Bible reading, it is extremely well suited for Bible study groups who meet weekly, due to its section-by-section, bite-sized approach to a complete read-through of the gospels. The book is approachable and easy to use, but also sufficiently technical to be helpful to pastors, teachers and professors as a reference book or supplementary college text.

As high school history teacher Matthew Cowcert shoves open the creaky front door of a decrepit, abandoned ranch house in south Texas, he has no way of knowing that it holds a priceless treasure: a handwritten journal penned in 1901 by one ofhis own distant relatives, Redland Cowcert. Matthew is soon captivated by the poignant tale scrawled in the journal's yellowed pages. It's a brutally frank recounting of a life of hardship in the Old West: growing up orphaned and penniless on the streets of a one-horse town, enduring one bitter tragedy after the next, pressing on with gritty determination, and drawing strength and comfort from a singular lifelong friendship.
