Copies of original documents are included and data were obtained from Parish documents, Tax lists, Processioning Lists, War records, Censuses, Maps, Comparison tables, and more. Documentation includes not only the DePriests and their descendants but also neighbors as well as conspirators and Revolutionary soldiers. This volume should be of interest to anyone who has a DePriest in their family tree.Volume 2 (c. 1750-1850) continues the story with detailed documentation on the story of William DePriest, Colonial Counterfeiter and his conspirators. Also included is the story of his sons and their part in the Revolutionary War.Volume 3 (c. 1850-1950) gets more specific to the author's line of DePriests starting with William who married into the Casey family and moved to Illinois and continuing with his descendants into more modern times.Volume 4 (c. 1650-1711) The material in this volume is poorly formatted, but represents lots of good data about the people of Colonial Virginia in the area of the New Kent County. It is basically a collection of notes I made as I was trying to figure out the life of the DePriests of the time, but contains lots of information about neighbors and maps which help to visualize the land of owners of the time.

My first volume of travelogues offered the casual reader a few pleasant, I hope, journeys of the imagination. Also, it had a few points to make, or at least it had a question to answer. It was my attempt to puzzle out, via anecdotes, chance encounters and a kaleidoscope of travel experiences, the ways and means in which various ancient cultures wrought what we call "civilization". What produced the dominion of Egypt, the grandeur of Greece, the glory of Rome? This volume has no such theme. It's just for fun. Travel ought to be more than moving our protoplasm from place to place, and armchair travel ought to be more than leafing through travel brochures. It should be educational, amusing and inspiring enough to make us come back for more.
