What happens to a bright person whose memory is totally wiped out through psychological trauma? They have no history or learned guidelines, such as culture, memory implanted through school, and parents. It is like starting again, not knowing what you can or cannot do. For Marion, life is experienced as a new event; she has only had basic instincts born through her unconscious mind to rely on.Given that the conscious brain uses only a small percentage of its total power, what happens if intuition takes over using the power of the unconscious mind? Marion, who is living in isolation for months at a time with sporadic contact with only one other person, develops empath skills to survive. Was she born with intuitive skills never used? Or did she develop them out of necessity? Is she capable developing extra-sensory perception to an advanced level? How far can these psychic abilities go? How can this fit into the Marion's world view, and how does it impact on the lives of the people she eventually comes into contact with? There are three alpha-type men who come into her life; all are flawed in some way. Can she change them? And which one would she choose?
In "Another World" I have travelled to the immeasurably corners of the universe to create an imaginary conclusion to Marion's story looks using my experience in Theology to create a different outlook from the ones often seen. Marion dies and finds herself in another world. It is not exactly what she expected. She seeks to find the answers to the eternal questions. Where am I? What am I? What is the purpose of this place? She is continually drawn back to the Earth hoping she can help the people she had loved. This does not happen as each time she interferes things seem to get worse for those people. She is surprised when Flynn who was her bodyguard and former lover comes into her world. Together they set off on an odyssey to find a mysterious body of blue water in the hope that they will solve some of the answers they seek. There are many challenges along the way, and at one point they are torn apart causing her horror and grief. Eventually, they each find a reason for their journey. Then when all seemed lost they re-encounter each other reason for their journey. Then when all seemed lost they find each other and their love remains even on different terms.
Over the last century the discharge of crude or partially treated sewage has probably been the most widespread, most documented and certainly the best understood form of pollution entering the aquatic environment. In the past two decades, however, there has been an increasing public aware ness of the potential hazards that exist from the contamination of the freshwater environment by toxic substances associated with the mining industry. World demand for minerals has intensified the exploitation of natural resources. In most western and newly developed countries significant mining proposals are now strenuously regulated to protect the environ ment. These involve economic and legislative measures and the use of appropriate control technologies. This concern will undoubtedly continue to spread worldwide requiring a programme of enlightened environmental protection management policies and practices for the future. This book has been prepared as a synthesis of our current understand ing of the effects of various heavy metals and acidic discharges likely to contaminate the freshwater environment as a direct result of mining activities. The review is based upon the dissertations of former BP spon sored students who were engaged to provide a better scientific understand ing of the causes of environmental problems associated with this industry. It gives us great pleasure to publish this information for use and appli cation by a wider audience as part of the contribution of The British Petroleum Company p.1.c. to European Year of the Environment.
After foreign military interventions, the French political and intellectual elites embraced regime change and launched an urgent programme of nation building. They rebuilt French national identity with whatever material was available, and created a vibrant new cultural and intellectual life.

Analysing the issues of language that faced international forces carrying out peace operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the 1990s, this book examines how differences of language were an integral part of the conflicts in the country and in what way the multinational UN and NATO forces faced their own problems of communication and language support.
