Calculus is one of the most important and fundamental subjects for students in tertiary education especially students pursuing in the engineering and science field. However, many students face difficulties in learning Calculus which is evident in their poor performance in the subject. Many students perceived Calculus as abstract, boring and hard to learn because of its nature which involves abstract and complex ideas and how it is taught to the students. Studies have indicated that students enrolled in the traditional university Calculus class have a very superficial and incomplete understanding of many of the basic concepts in Calculus possibly because they are never given the opportunity to develop a conceptual knowledge of topics in a traditional Calculus class. This paper, therefore, allows students learn Calculus concepts and processes by exploration and discovery allowing them to be more engaged in learning.
