Nanocrystalline materials are three-dimensional ultrafine, polycrystalline microstructures. The development of the microstructure during sintering is studied and the influence of the synthesis parameters on the structure and properties of the nanocrystalline ceramics from the atomic to the microstructural level is investigated.
