Reading these poems is like watching a splendid pageant- a pageant which is at once a celebration of Nature and a commentary on the various aspects of existence.Effusions of a highly sensitive poetic mind, they testify in ample measure to the 'fine frenzy' which, according to the poet, is the hallmark of genuine poetry. They also illustrate the transfiguring power of poetic imagination which raises the subject from its dull bed and transfigures it with the poets shaping power. And there is no poem here that is not suffused with the glow of the poet's imagination. This pageant of poetry contains besides Nature poems, thumbnail sketches of interesting individuals, childhood memories, records of significant experiences or situations, reflections on the human destiny and so on.About the Author: Born in 1943, Dr Mathew Joseph carried out his higher studies at S.B.
