There are many kinds of meditation, intended to achieve personal peace, inner truth, intuition, or perhaps spiritual realization. Yet a unique purpose of Radiance Meditation is for world service - to positively effect and transform the consciousness of humanity with spiritual radiance, love and goodwill. Thus, this a 'world-service' meditation. This book on Radiance Meditation explains how meditation, and the power of mind, can be used for awakening spiritual energies and qualities in the minds and hearts of humanity. Meditation becomes a way to bring positive transformations into the world, as the meditator emanates and transmits Light, Love, Peace, and Goodwill. Through meditation we can also share higher ideas and visions. So in this kind of meditation we serve the Divine and the world, and we actually participate in the important spiritual work of Radiance. The meditation principles in this book can be added into any style of meditation, in order to help the spiritual evolution of our world.

The spinal cord and the brain together form the central nervous system (CNS). A CNS tumor develops when healthy cells in the brain or spinal cord start growing uncontrollably forming a mass. CNS tumors may be malignant or benign. Malignant tumors grow rapidly and can spread to other parts of the body whereas benign tumors grow slowly and do not spread to other parts of the body. Astrocytoma, diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG or the brain stem glioma), ependymoma, germ cell tumor, medulloblastoma, primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET), and optic pathway glioma are a few types of CNS tumors. Diagnosis of CNS cancer is done using tests and procedures including neurological examination, imaging tests such as CT scan and MRI, and biopsy. Treatment options include radiation therapy, radiosurgery, chemotherapy, and targeted drug therapy. The results of various researches and advanced studies related to CNS tumors have been included in this book. It includes some of the vital pieces of work being conducted across the globe, on various topics related to CNS oncology. This book will help the readers in keeping pace with the rapid changes in this field.
The central nervous system (CNS) is made up of the spinal cord and brain. The cranium protects the brain, which is contained in the skull. The brain and spinal cord are connected, and the spinal cord is located caudally to the brain. The vertebrae protect the spinal cord. Grey and white matter constitutes the CNS. Axons and oligodendrocytes make up the white matter, whereas neurons and unmyelinated fibers make up the grey matter. A CNS tumor is an abnormal growth of cells from the brain or spinal cord tissues. Vomiting, headaches, visual abnormalities, nausea, and convulsions are all common symptoms of CNS tumors. Risk factors that may lead to CNS tumors include radiation exposure, genetic disorder, immunodeficiency, and a history of previous cancers. A CNS tumor can be diagnosed using neurological examination of body reflexes, muscle strength, vision and eye movements, X-ray imaging, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), or biopsy. This book contains some path-breaking studies on central nervous tumors. It will serve as a reference to a broad spectrum of readers.

Meningitis is the inflammation of the protective membranes which cover the brain and the spinal cord. The person affected with meningitis often experiences fever, neck-stiffness, headache, vomiting, sensitivity to light or loud noises and altered consciousness. Viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms are the primary causes of this disease. In some cases, meningitis may be life-threatening due to the proximity of inflammation to the brain and spinal cord. A sample of cerebrospinal fluid is collected from the spinal cord by a lumbar puncture for diagnosis of meningitis. A few forms of meningitis can be prevented through vaccination and antibiotics. Its treatment depends on the cause of meningitis. Bacterial meningitis is treated with intravenous antibiotics, fungal meningitis can be treated with antifungal agents and viral meningitis is treated with intravenous antiviral medications. This book contains some path-breaking studies on meningitis. It presents researches and studies performed by experts across the globe. This book, with its detailed analyses and data, will prove immensely beneficial to professionals and students involved in this area at various levels.
