Bereits seit vielen Jahren wird die Röntgenfluoreszenzenzanalyse eingesetzt für die Untersuchung kompakter, homogener Proben wie Metallen oder Gläsern, aber auch für die Analyse pulverförmiger Proben wie etwa geologische Proben, Zement und Eisenlegierungen.
