(One living and one a ghost) Harry has to make a difficult choice between the two women as to which one he wants to spend eternity with? If Harry should die a natural death he will spend eternity with his wife, Mary. If he kills himself he will spend eternity with Claudia, the ghost. This is a classic love story with a ghostly twist or two.
The Red Cotton Fields Last Sundown is the ending of an epic beginning ten years before the Civil War and ending at the end of World War II. The story revolves around three families, beginning with the overseer's son and the plantation owner's daughter including a slave boy on the Ballaster Plantation in 1850. The four-book series takes these three families through the Civil War, World War I and World War II. This book, Red Cotton Fields Last Sundown, picks up where Angry Sky ends in the middle of World War II. I can assure you this four book Epic is a page turner and never wanting the story to end. Read some of the many reviews to see what I mean. I wrote these books over a period of many years and know that I need to finish this last book now. The readers are anxious as to how it ends and so am I. The characters in these books have been my family and hate for their lives to end. I just turned eighty years old, so I know its time to let them go. Hope you enjoy this final ending to this truly, EPIC FOR THE AGES! Michael Strickland
A story of intrigue and disbelief that something like this could happen so close to our coast line and how horrific it might have been if all the pieces hadn't fallen into place as they did. Truely a page turner if there ever was one. You will never forget the name, Crippled Pelican after reading this story.
Fresh out of middle school, 12-year-old Orabella thought the worst of her worries would be choosing between going to high school and being homeschooled-between sticking with her friends or being free from the bullying she receives because of her learning disability. But she soon discovers that the world she knew, school included, isn''t what it seems. An eerie encounter with a mysterious raven during the Summer Solstice Festival-and the sudden disappearance of her parents soon after-forces her to move in with her grandparents, where strange occurrences happen more and more often. When Oreballa stumbles upon a family secret with roots in Ancient Egypt, she''s thrust into a world of ancient spirits, time-traveling, and, most importantly, the Tree of Life, a spiritual entity that maintains the stability of the entire universe.Newly aware of her true destiny, Orabella must learn to shed her self-doubt and insecurities surrounding her learning disability and adjust to her new role as a protector of humanity and the Tree of Life against the mischievous spirit, Iblis, and his forces of darkness in order to keep the universe in balance and find her parents.
Volume 3 of this three-part series presents more advanced topics and applications of relativistic quantum field theory. The application of quantum chromodynamics to high-energy particle scattering is discussed with concrete examples for how to compute QCD scattering cross sections. Experimental evidence for the existence of quarks and gluons is then presented both within the context of the naive quark model and beyond. Dr Strickland then reviews our current understanding of the weak interaction, the unified electroweak theory, and the Brout-Higgs-Englert mechanism for the generation of gauge boson masses. The last two chapters contain a self-contained introduction to finite temperature quantum field theory with concrete examples focusing on the high-temperature thermodynamics of scalar field theories, QED, and QCD.
Volume 2 of this three-part series presents the quantization of classical field theory using the path integral formalism. For this volume the target audience is students who wish to learn about relativistic quantum field theory applied to particle physics, however, it is still very accessible and useful for students of condensed matter. This volume begins with the introduction of the path integral formalism for non-relativistic quantum mechanics and then, using this as a basis, extends the formalism to quantum fields with an infinite number of degrees of freedom. Dr. Strickland then discusses how to quantize gauge fields using the Fadeev-Popov method and fermionic fields using Grassman algebra. He then presents the path integral formulation of quantum chromodynamics and its renormalization. Finally, he discusses the role played by topological solutions in non-abelian gauge theories.
Volume 1 of this three-part series introduces the fundamental concepts of quantum field theory using the formalism of canonical quantization. This volume is intended for use as a text for an introductory quantum field theory course that can include both particle and condensed matter physics students. Dr. Strickland starts with a brief review of classical field theory and uses this as a jumping off point for the quantization of classical field, thereby promoting them to proper quantum fields. He then presents the formalism for real and complex scalar field theories, fermion field quantization, gauge field quantization, toy models of the nuclear interaction, and finally the full Lagrangian for QED and its renormalization. Part of IOP Series in Nuclear Medicine.
The Evangelicals and the Synoptic Problem aims to investigate how evangelical Christians and their Protestant forebears, labeled early orthodox Protestants, have dealt with the classic puzzle of New Testament criticism known as the Synoptic Problem.
