This is a true story of Ivan (Vanya) Moiseyev, a soldier in the Soviet Red Army who was ruthlessly persecuted and incarcerated for his faith. He never denied his Savior, and he never hesitated to share the gospel with anyone who would listen.
Ivan may not be the most popular boy in the school but he is the best football player they have. However, some of the other boys think that Ivan should not be allowed to play on the school team because he is a Christian. The teasing and the bullying continue and Ivan struggles on. Things begin to look up when Ivan and his sister Katya get the chance to travel to the Lenin Collective Farm to help with the harvest. It will be great to have a break from school with plenty of fresh air and exercise. But there's another reason Ivan and Katya can't wait to get there - there just might be a hidden Bible somewhere on the farm - the farm that once belonged to Ivan and Katya's Grandfather!
Here is Ivan in a brand new adventure. This time he is trying to outwit the Moscow Secret Police who have imprisoned his best friend, Pyotr, in a children's home. Can Ivan rescue Pyotr? Can he find a way to get Pyotr's father, Pastor Kachenko, released from prison? Read how God uses Ivan's skill at football to help his friends and get the better of the Moscow Secret Police.
Many looked on Gladys Aylward's expedition to mainland China as foolhardy and dangerous. It was on her own, as a single female she carried her passport and other documents along with the only money and belongings that she had in a small briefcase with a teapot and a saucepan tied to the handle.
