The Schizophrenic Gospel?: A Journey to Coherency Through Time, Hell, and Eternity begins with a discussion on the ethical dilemma of unending torment. If salvation is by grace and God loves all and is able to save all, why wouldn't He? That discourse is followed by an analysis of the Biblical teachings on hell, eternity, heaven, atonement, and reconciliation. As a devout student of Scripture I began this study over 20 years ago, trying to resolve a maze of contradictory theological paradigms. God's Word is certainly not schizophrenic, but some teachings make it seem so. This research unveiled the beautifully coherent message of the "restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began" (Acts 3:21). Passages of Scripture that used to sound mystifying finally became cohesive. This book meticulously exegetes some of those key passages. The message throughout Scripture is that God's love knows no limits and is not constrained by time or death.
Despite the fact that the Bible has been mixed with cultural and linguistic interpretations for over several millennia, its spiritual truths, which lead to inner peace and joy, remain unchanged. These are not found by wading in shallow waters but by taking deep dives into the Bible's interconnected passages. Biblical truths are literally hidden in plain sight. This book is a memoir of my journey into these depths.
For generations, coastal North Carolinians have prepared and savored time-honored recipes that are as much a part of their tradition as boatbuilding and netmaking. Home-cooked meals using the great variety of seasonal foods remain central to family life. In this collection Nancy Davis and Kathy Hart have preserved an important part of the heritage of this region. Here thirty-four Tar Heel cooks offer recipes that can't be found in popular cookbooks or on restaurant menus. In Edenton, Frances Drane Inglis shares her recipe for plum pudding from the pages of a nineteenth-century family cookbook. And from Gloucester, Bill Pigott offers one of his specialties, conch chowder, a Carteret County classic. But these cooks describe more than just good food; they recount the heritage of the coast through stories, anecdotes, helpful tips, and historical facts. Vignettes on each cook lend a historical perspective to this book and the old-time recipes will be treasured for years to come.
Grandmother. Her essence is that of wisdom, compassion and unconditional love. She is a nurturer from the heart. God made her that way. She looks for nothing in return except knowing in her heart she has blessed someone with her kindness, insight and patience. Her desire is to epitomize what it looks like to release the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Pleasing God is her aspiration. This is the story of certain women, biblical and personal, who acknowledged the responsibility and pleasure of their position. It's not a position that usually brings much notice, but to do it well delivers far-reaching results. For years she has been the lifeblood of many families. And it doesn't matter if you are a blood relative or not, she claims you as her own. To all of this add the anointing, the super on our natural, and you have a force that can affect future generations. Nancy Davis is known for her love, compassion and encouragement of everyone she meets. She has served in various ministerial capacities for over 25 years. She has three children, five grandchildren (three who are adults and two who are pre-teens) and one great-grandchild. Of all that could be listed of her life's achievements, her greatest appreciation is for every opportunity God has given her to speak life and wisdom into the lives of many. However, she considers being a grandmother and a great-grandmother the utmost of God's blessings.
Healthy Cooking Recipes Being Healthy in an Unhealthy World One of the hardest things we can do in today's world is keep our bodies healthy. Yes, we might have the means, but we simply do not have the knowledge! If you step outside you will see dozens of fast food restaurants, all offering deals that seem too good to be true, and they probably are. Sure you'll get your fill, but how will your body feel afterward? How do we compensate for the extra fat and the high amounts of salt that we insist on eating every single day. Did you know that the average American consumes twice the recommended salt content in a given year? Before you reach for that salt shaker again however, you might want to consider what this book has to say. From natural recipes, to meal planning, and even smoothies, you will find that this book is a gateway to a healthier lifestyle. Everyone has a different body type and what works for one person may not work for another, but that doesn't mean you can't try.
