One sometimes feels that one owes a debt of gratitude for the ecstasies that one is given along the road of life, and these poems are an attempt of mine to pay that debt, by paying it forward, sharing certain transports of delight. The beauty of nature and the charm of rustic life are the chief themes here, but love, marriage, and family, Christian faith, and a little humor, are mixed in. This volume contains the following poems: 1. Autumn Frenzy 2. Maple Glory 3. Nature's Sabbath 4. A Rustic Romance 5. The Merry War 6. Winter Bloom 7. The Snow Clad Wood 8. April Thunder 9. The Impatient Gardener 10. The River Painter 11. Swimming Hole 12. Blackberries 13. The Vision of Moses 14. The Apple Tree Parable 15. The Fat Cat 16. Selling Goats 17. Highway Sunset 18. Aspen Gold
Comfort There's little love to giveAnd much to brood in hateFor the sexes are undoneLost in a bleak caveWith no way outBut why should anyoneLeave the comfort of their cellsWhen you have everythingThat you need right at your fingertipsFor what does it profit a manTo gain his soul, but lose the world?
What is manBut a machineBorn to serveOur regime,A fixed quotaTo be doggedAnd taggedWatch like a hawkJust to complyOr dieBy our demandsTo the rightsOf your lands,We did notBribe the worldIn bulkJust to let it slipFrom our handsThe worldIs oursAnd we willRule itWith an iron fist!!!
