Mosaic Reflections: Just Me & Poetry is the second poetry book by author and poet, Novalla Coleman. In Just Me & Poetry, Novalla Coleman has penned an eclectic group of thought-provoking, dialogue-starting, and possibly, prayer-inducing poetry. She beckons readers in with an up close and personal collection of poetic musings, a mosaic of many pieces about the Lord, cemented together into one piece, a work of art, a thing of poetic beauty. Ms. Coleman, then takes readers on a guided tour of her work, chapter after chapter, page after page, and poem after poem, about life, love, death, and many other topics. She ends the poetic journey through the mosaic with writings about words and how we use them. From the first poem to the last page, the author asks readers to let the verses speak.
Without wisdom, we may not reach the pinnacle of who and what we are to become but there is a solution. We can ask God, "Who gives to all men liberally," and gain insight into our future selves. In this second book in the Modern Proverbs series called Modern Proverbs: More Quotes, Quips, and Questions, Novalla Coleman shares a 21st century take on wisdom and awakened consciousness in this thought-elevating book. She unfolds wise sayings, quotes and quips about life, love and lots in-between. At times, she questions life, love and even God. Never does she question the Almighty God in a spirit of irreverence but because of who HE is, she knows He will provide for her complete understanding.
The book, Mosaic Reflections: In Poetic Context contains poems as reflections on life. It begins with poetry written from a relationship perspective with the Lord. That is not all; this book includes various poetry genres, which may not mention the name of the Lord, however, as reminiscent of the book of Esther, where His name is absent, His providential intervention can be seen as a common thread throughout this book. The author uses book pages as a blank canvas and words as paint to express melodic art that is imaginative and thought-provoking, while she touches on relevant topics such as faith in God, she also writes about death, racial prejudice, broken relationships, and growing old.
