In 1971, Marine Corps Captain helicopter pilot, Daniel Burton, has separated from the Corps. Unbeknownst to him, his boss has been smuggling drugs aboard their weekly flight from a container ship outside Seattle to Tacoma, Washington. Unwilling to have anything to do with drugs, Dan is preparing to quit. But a drug dealer shootout has gone south, and Dan winds up in the hospital. The major problem is his five Marine Corps brothers are going to be put under the microscope as well as Dan. As a group, their real problem sits in Swiss Bank accounts. The money was stolen while they were on Okinawa as they finished their last tour in Vietnam. The guys took the money from the original thieves and decided to wait for a reward. None was ever offered. They waited too long. Now, the FBI, the CIA, and the military wants Dan and...all the money back. His five Marine Corps buddies join forces with Dan and go into hiding. Dan runs much faster than the FBI.
In 1971, helicopter pilot Captain Jack Higgins, stationed in Vietnam, flies stateside as a funeral escort for his fallen Marine Corps brother. The official cause of death is from enemy fire, but the actual cause is selective scheduling. The perpetrator, Lt.Col. Fred Bedford, has so far eliminated four Marine brothers. With only three left, Jack vows revenge against Bedford, the military, and their treatment back home. He's going to execute the biggest heist in military history: the $20 million payroll on Okinawa. Jack is assigned to the money run, the helicopter carrying all of the small, unmarked bills. His brothers, with motives of their own, join forces with him. All is well with the plan until he meets Air Force Captain Ellen Stevens and falls in love. Now he's torn. Can he take the money and still keep Ellen? He has eight weeks to figure it out. The clock is ticking and The Money Run is waiting.
