The tips in this book have not been placed in any particular order. I have written them down the way they came to me as I was writing this book. They all have their place and importance in the business of selling. And selling is everybody's job today. The book is not meant to be read cover to cover in one sitting, but rather to be used as a workbook where you only read one tip a day and write your notes at the bottom of each page. So keep it at your desk and in a 3 months' time you will have preserved to memory the 91 tips on selling.

Alfred Hitchcock's comments in his frequent interviews have encouraged many critics to assume that the director's true career began in 1934 with The Man Who Knew Too Much, the first in a long, almost unbroken string of thrillers. Then, having defined Hitchcock as a specialist, these critics select from his earlier work only those films that anticipate his later career: The Lodger (1927), Blackmail (1929), Murder! (1930), and Number Seventeen (1932). Such a perspective, mired in the confidence of hindsight, results in a highly misleading view of the director, one that dismisses his 12 other early features-eight silent and four sound-and implies that he was merely marking time until his "true" creative personality emerged. Hitchcock was, in fact, a major director from the very start of his career in 1925 and for 10 years he made substantial, mature features that reveal an impressive consistency in content and form. This book examines those all important films.

This book presents the closing days of America's untamed West as lived and recorded through the lens of three of the best-known photographers of the era: David Francis Barry, John C.H. Grabill, and L.A. Huffman. These men knew Custer and the 7th Cavalry, as well as the leaders of the Native people who fought valiantly to preserve their lands and their historic way of life. These photographers knew the cowboys and ranchers and even the leaders of the Mexican Revolution. Through the publication of their work, the photographs these men took gave people from coast to coast a realistic and sometimes spectacular image of what was happening on the frontier as the relentless waves of immigrants swept westward in search of land, gold, and new lives. You may know the general history of these events, but these photographers presented visual evidence of their times that has been preserved for more than a century. Paul Jensen has gathered both the stories of their lives and the historic photos of their times to serve up a savory taste of the Wild West. The world's awareness of the American West was heavily shaped by great 19th-century photographers who captured vistas, characters, and the dramas of settlement and conquest. Paul Jensen, a cowboy and 21st century historian of the frontier, vividly conveys the world in which these photographers operated, and the lasting impact of their version of the people and places of the frontier.-James Fallows, National Correspondent for the Atlantic Monthly and nationally acclaimed author, including his recent book with his wife Deborah Fallows, Our Towns: A 100,000-Mile Journey into the Heart of America.

The State of Equality in the Equality State deftly shows the state''s motto has never met the tests of history, data, and current events. Clearing away the myth that women and minorities have been treated equally, the book reveals the real Wyoming: an open landscape of great beauty and vast naturalresources, populated with communities that have staying power, strong individuals, and the potential for innovation.Paul Jensen sees Wyoming at the crossroads of a new age filled with promising opportunities. Jensen understands the past and shines a light on the darker pockets of a history that continues to affect life today. Only by breaking down its insularity, Jensen argues, can Wyoming join a larger world and benefit from it. By leaving timeworn conventions behind, Jensen shows the tantalizing potential for Wyoming in the twenty-first century. The State of Equality in the Equality State is a refreshingly honest look at Wyoming history and the state''s life today. Paul Jensen reminds us that some our longest held beliefs can be misleading and cloud what is best about Wyoming. As a Wyoming rancher I am also proud to be a big part of Wyoming''s new economy so insightfully developed by Paul.-Norm Pape, third generation Daniel, Wyoming rancher, 2009 winner of Wyoming''s Leopold Conservation Award and one of seven ranches selected nationwide for best conservation practices. One of the seven will be selected as the nation''s best managed and most productive ranch.
