Stoneboat literary journal has been publishing exceptional poetry, fiction, memoir, creative nonfiction, and b&w art since 2010. This issue includes a poetic photo essay written by Mariko Nagai about the Hiroshima atomic bombing. It also includes three short stories, two essays, and more than a dozen poems. Based out of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Stoneboat features many Wisconsin writers alongside writers from throughout the United States and around the globe. We're an eclectic journal -- our only publishing criteria is that the work has to be good.

The 2016 presidential election revealed a deep divide in the American political and cultural landscapes. The election also revealed a clear need for conversation among Americans on all sides of this divide. Stoneboat facilitated this discourse in its "Beyond Red & Blue: Voices for America" issue by providing a space for all people to express their views, not only about the election outcome but also about what it means to be an American in 2017 and what it means to make America great again. (Or, what already makes America great.)
