Penelope (Penny) Higgins was born in Bend, Oregon in 1940. Her goal in life is to spread as much sunshine as she possibly is able. At 7 years old Penny began writing poetry. She has won a few awards, the most prestigious being the Editor''s Choice Award for Outstanding Achievement in Poetry presented by the National Library of Poetry. Penny has had three books published: There''s a Bear In My Bed, The Jiger and the Tiraffe, and Oscar the Mighty Crab. Penny has two sons, five grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
