In my thirty years of pastoring I have encountered a myriad of problems, met lots of good - and bad - people, and do know that I wish I had known when I began at my first pastorate what I know now. It would have made my journey easier. It is for that reason I write this. Perhaps it will assist some pastoral candidate and maybe some church from experiencing unnecessary problems. I fully believe both ministers and churches want to do the right thing. Doing the right thing has to start somewhere. That's where we begin.
