"Soaring into Heaven" is a challenge to Christian senior adults not to waste their retirement years. All of us started our Christian lives by putting our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Some did this at an early age, maybe we were raised in a Christian home and our parents were involved in helping us make this decision. Some others made this decision as teenagers or young adults. We walked the aisle at a church or went to a Billy Graham crusade. Others made this decision later in life, maybe in our 30's or 40's and wished we had made it sooner. We all started by faith but at different times and at different places. But the purpose of this book is not about when we started but about how we finish!We have been told to "finish strong" and to "press on" which is good, but I think it is far greater than that. This should be the most productive time in our life for impacting the kingdom. It should be an encore of such proportions that all that God accomplished through us in our life to this point would only be a fraction of what He will do nowThat's the purpose of this book - to wake us up. Those of us who call ourselves Christians, who believe in the Lord, and who are in the later stages of our life, maybe over 55 or 65. We have served God for some time, we have seen Him work in and through us and now we think we have finished the work. I want to tell you the work is not finished! There is far more to do, and God is looking for men and women completely devoted to Him such that they want to give their all and to Soar into Heaven going full steam and not limping along. We may be limping physically but we should be soaring spiritually.
