This is a guided loving-kindness meditation for cultivating a stronger sense of self-esteem and self-love. While loving-kindness meditations vary widely depending on the instructor's or practitioner's references, they always involve extending well-wishes. The person to whom you extend the well-wishes and what they are depend on the meditation's purpose. In this meditation, you will start by extending the four well-wishes that Sophie has chosen to someone you care about and then to yourself. We do this because extending the well-wishes to yourself first may be too challenging if your self-esteem is low. Starting with someone important to you may ease the process. The author has also changed the typical phrasing of the well-wishes from, for example, "may you be safe" to "may you feel safe" since it is possible to be safe, loved, etc. and not feel like you are.Loving-kindness meditations originated in the Buddhist meditation technique metta bhavana. However, the technique is not necessarily religious. This recording does not use any religious or spiritual language. All meditations produced by Sophie Grace Meditations are written to fit everyone, regardless of whether you consider yourself religious or atheistic. Science has shown that simply imagining you extend well-wishes to others in a relaxed state can increase your capacity for empathy and love, make you feel happier and more peaceful, and have measurable positive effects on your physical health in as few as six weeks.Sophie Påhlsson, the person behind Sophie Grace Meditations, is a Swedish meditation instructor who started writing guided meditations for personal use because she found that the market in Sweden lacked the content she wanted to listen to. Since Sophie Grace Meditations released her first products, they have collectively been streamed and bought over one million times.
Are you looking for a guided meditation you can use repeatedly without getting tired of it—one that can still provide you with new experiences after months of listening? If so, Your Special Place is the perfect meditation for you. It gives you much freedom without sacrificing the structural help and controlled time frame a guided meditation should provide. The recording starts by helping you calm your breathing and relax your body; you will get more out of the rest of the meditation if you wind down a little before it starts. The meditation's main part is a guided imagery sequence during which you imagine being outside in nature. It can be a real place you sometimes visit or a dreamed-up storybook landscape that does not exist anywhere. Once you have decided where to go, the narrator/author helps you explore the place with her instructions. Some prefer to imagine visiting the same place every time they listen to the meditation. That may be a good strategy for beginners since they will begin associating the imagery with relaxation, making it easier to relax. Others might imagine visiting a beach one day and a forest the next. Or they might imagine taking a long walk through a landscape that changes as they explore it. All these approaches are okay. In time, you will find what works best for you. This audiobook is narrated by the author. Background music: Adrift 2 by Christopher Lloyd Clarke. This is the second edition of Your Special Place. The first edition was released in 2015.Sophie Påhlsson, the person behind Sophie Grace Meditations, is a Swedish meditation instructor who started writing guided meditations for personal use because she found that the market in Sweden lacked the content she wanted to listen to. In Meditation for Love, Compassion, and Connection, two meditation techniques—loving-kindness and guided imagery—have been combined to create a relaxing meditation story that is easy to follow along with and that also cultivates the listener’s capacity for love, compassion, and connection. Guided imagery is known to be one of the easiest meditation techniques for beginners and basically makes the meditation like a story that you take part in yourself. Loving-kindness can help develop self-esteem and love and compassion for both yourself and others, which improves and strengthens all kinds of relationships. Studies have also shown that loving-kindness meditation increases pleasant emotions such as joy, contentment, gratitude, and hope and that practicing loving-kindness for 20 minutes per day 3 times per week leads to measurable positive physical effects in only a few weeks. This meditation story starts with a short wind-down section to make it simpler to imagine being in a safe and beautiful place once the guided imagery section begins. In this beautiful and safe place, the listener will imagine meeting people they know to varying degrees—first, someone they know well and care about, and then gradually focusing on people they know less and less. The first person will introduce the listener to the four traditional well-wishes that characterize a loving-kindness meditation, which the listener will then say to everyone they meet. This meditation is different from shorter loving-kindness meditations, which don’t have a guided imagery element, because it includes a section that focuses on creating a deep sense of connection with each person before the listener extends their well-wishes to them.Sophie Påhlsson, the person behind Sophie Grace Meditations, is a Swedish meditation instructor from the southwestern part of the country. She started writing guided meditations for personal use because she found that the market in Sweden lacked the content she wanted to listen to, like guided imagery meditations and relaxation exercises without excess information that you can use time and time again. Do you want to introduce your children to body awareness and relaxation to make it easier for them to manage stress and relax both in their childhood and as they are growing up? In Progressive Muscle Relaxation for Children, the kids explore the difference between tense and relaxed muscles by first tensing a particular muscle group and then letting go of the tension. Once the children have worked their way from the feet to the head and relaxed all the muscles, there will be a couple of minutes to rest or listen to the background music before the narrator rounds off the exercise. The audiobook contains an 8-minute-version with background music by Christopher Lloyd Clarke and a 10-minute-version with alternate background music by CalmTunes. The longer alternate version is good when the children have gained some experience working with the exercise or prefer to work their way through the muscles at a slower pace. The relaxation exercise is precisely the same in both versions; the only things that differ, besides the music, are the slightly longer pauses when moving through the steps and the longer time to rest at the end before rounding off. The two versions make up two different audiobook chapters, thereby making it easy to choose which one to listen to using the audio player's chapter selection feature. When bought as an MP3, the two versions will be two separate audio files. The relaxation exercise has been narrated by the author.Tips: When it comes to smaller children, it might be a good idea to turn down the volume as they reach the "resting section" if they start to get restless. Adults who want to introduce the relaxation exercise to their children are recommended to consider it an exercise in body awareness rather than a moment of rest. Tell the children what tensing their muscles means before trying the relaxation for the first time—saying it is like what you do when you want to show how strong your arms are will often work well. It can also be a good idea to allow the children to ask questions while performing the exercise the first few times. If you plan on using this relaxation exercise in a pre-school or school environment, it is not recommended to perform it just after a meal. Better times are when the children have been moving about, such as at the end of gym class or when they come back inside after recess.…..Sophie Påhlsson, the person behind Sophie Grace Meditations, is a Swedish meditation instructor from the southwestern part of the country. Physical Relaxation for Sleep is exactly what it sounds like: a relaxation exercise focusing on physical relaxation as a tool for falling asleep. You will be prompted to relax your whole body, step by step, one small part at a time, from your feet to your head, and from the right side to the left side. The exercise does not require any more effort from you besides listening to the instructions and therefore suits those of you who do not want to have to put in a lot of active effort when doing a relaxation exercise. Hopefully, listening to this recording will make you so relaxed, both physically and mentally, that you may even fall asleep before you reach the end. There is no reason to fight to stay awake if you notice that you are about to fall asleep. Even if you have only gotten halfway through; just give in and allow yourself to fall asleep. This audiobook has been narrated by the author.Sophie Påhlsson, the person behind Sophie Grace Meditations, is a Swedish meditation instructor from the southwestern part of the country. You come to a little cabin and enter into a process of surrendering unpleasant emotions to a special fire. Later, you are invited to fully rest and relax until it is time to round off the meditation. In this version, you will have 5 minutes to rest and recover. If you would like to rest for longer, the extended edition will give you 20 minutes. The Winter Cabin has been narrated by the author. In The Easiest Relaxation Exercise Ever, the initial relaxation that starts off the guided meditation The Rose Garden has become the main event. This is an easy relaxation exercise that works for everyone, regardless of whether you have never done a relaxation exercise before or have meditated several times per week for years. The original version of the exercise without brainwave entrainment can also be done by children over 10 years old.The Easiest Relaxation Exercise Ever begins with tuning into the sensations of your breathing. After that, you will get help relaxing first your feet and legs, then your hips, then your stomach, chest and back, followed by your hands and arms, then your neck and throat, and finally the muscles in your face. Once your whole body has relaxed you will have time to just relax to the music. The original version of The Easiest Relaxation Exercise Ever is intended for daytime use. However, since many people want to use it to help them fall asleep, the ending awakening section has been removed in order to create this nighttime version. This means that once your body has relaxed, the music will continue to play for another 25 minutes and simply fade out at the end.Though listed under different names, the narrator is also the author of this audiobook. The background music is composed by Chris Collins and is called Serenity.
Becoming a Flower is a guided imagery meditation that you can use for managing stress, to become emotionally and mentally grounded, or just for general relaxation. During the meditation, you will use your imagination and pretend that you are a flower seed that grows into a colorful blossoming flower. Becoming a Flower is a very easy meditation. All you need to do is make yourself comfortable, preferably somewhere you will not be disturbed, start the audiobook, and follow the narrator’s (author’s) instructions. If visualizing is difficult for you, do not worry, it will become easier with time and practice. Background music by Christopher Lloyd Clarke. This meditation is narrated by the author.NB! A loving-kindness meditation is usually built around three or four well-wishes that you repeat to different recipients. It may be that you wish them good health, that they will be safe, happy, loved, etc. In Loving-Kindness Meditation with My Favorite Phrases, Sophie Grace Meditations shows that only your imagination sets the limit for how to shape the mantra the meditation is built on. She has chosen four phrases that make her personally feel really good. Instead of saying “May you be…” as the custom is, she has chosen to say “May youfeel…,” since you may be loved and safe and still not be able to feel or understand that you are. You start by directing the well-wishes to yourself, then to someone you care about, then to someone you do not know very well, and then to every sentient being on this earth, thinking of everyone as a collective—including yourself.Loving-kindness, or "metta bhavana", is originally a Buddhist meditation technique, but when listening to it you will not find it religious in any way. It will feel more like an exercise for practicing and cultivating empathy and kindness. Over the last few years, science has found that there are many mental and physical benefits from regularly practicing loving-kindness meditation—even for just a few weeks. The reason may be that feeling a sense of connection with others is important to our health and wellbeing. The English edition is based on the second edition in Swedish.Sophie Påhlsson, who is the person behind Sophie Grace Meditations, is a Swedish meditation instructor. Her goal with the meditations, relaxation exercises and sleep stories she creates is to help you relax or fall asleep with the help of guided relaxations that you also enjoy listening to. Products in Swedish and English are narrated by Påhlsson herself. (Swedish pseudonym: Sophie Grace Meditationer.) The titles available in other languages have been narrated by voice-over artists.
In The Cozy Cabin you are guided through a beautiful winter landscape to a little cabin. There is a fire burning in a fireplace, making the cabin feel nice and sleepily warm. Besides wood, the fire is fed by thoughts and emotions. With the help of your imagination, you surrender stress and other difficult emotions to the fire, which will turn them all into ash and smoke. After this, you will lie down in a bed that is so comfortable that it is easy for your body to relax. The relaxed feeling in your body makes you sleepier and sleepier. So sleepy that you eventually (hopefully) fall asleep. The Cozy Cabin is meant to help listeners fall asleep. Since both the language and the music are very relaxing and are meant to make you sleepy, you should not listen to this sleep story around anyone operating a vehicle. Should you want to listen on a night bus or road trip, please use headphones. This sleep story is written to suit adults but can also be used by older children (10+) and teenagers.Read by the author. Background music: Pure Relaxation, by Chris Collins. The Cozy Cabin is also available in Swedish, the author’s native language. Swedish title: Den mysiga stugan.
The Rose Garden is a guided meditation suitable for everyone—older children and adults, beginners and professionals. It can be used to just relax and unwind after a workday or to treat anxiety or other mental health issues. This is a non-religious meditation: There are no religious or spiritual elements in it at all, which means that it can be used by anyone, regardless of their beliefs. During the meditation, all the listener needs to do is follow along with the narrator’s instructions as she first takes them through an initial relaxation and then helps them imagine being in a beautiful rose garden where they can relax and rest. Background music is by Christopher Lloyd Clarke.
