German infantry during World War Two was the most highly trained infantry in the world. They trained hard and fought even harder. These individuals had a very tough job fighting through cold winters and the rainy season when the ground became a quagmire. Having to live and fight in thick mud. The Red Army fought back just as hard. In the end the Red Army had the numerical advantage which turned the course of the war as stretched supply lines and a lack of manpower conspired against the Germans. At times this is a very graphical and violent read that some may find disturbing. But, to truly appreciate what those fighting had gone through. Making use of the frank and at times graphical accounts from those who had first-hand experience of the true horror of war. This book paints the chaotic and violent nature of war and what soldiers went through to both survive and fight in some of the most violent battles.
High octane action flying at 120 knots with the unique roar from its aerodynamic rotors and twin turbines the AH 64 Apache is the world's most fearsome attack helicopter its pilots refer to it as 'Riding the Dragon'. Packed with a 30mm cannon, 2.75 rockets or Hellfire missiles it is a formidable foe. Some of the Apache systems are truly amazing such as being able to read a car number plate at 4.2Km away with its 127 times-magnification day TV camera. A thermal camera so powerful it can identify a human at 4km and spots of blood on the ground from 1km. You follow Peter Bowler from an Officer Cadet through training to becoming a fully-fledged Army Air Corps Apache pilot on the battlefields of Afghanistan. Flying a helicopter so complex it takes two pilots and is akin to riding a unicycle whilst playing an Xbox, watching TV and reading war and peace. Battling the heat as well as enemy fire in the 'Green Zone' of Helmand Province. The fast paced action opens your eyes to the adrenaline rush, horror and terror of war from 2000 feet.
The Harrier has a unique place in aviation history as the most successful VTOL aircraft to date. Born from the need during the Cold War for an aircraft that could operate even if airfields had been destroyed. The Harrier has become yet another British aviation icon alongside the Spitfire and Concord. Under a small but outstanding team under designer Sir Sydney Camm designer of Hawker Hurricane fame along with Sir Stanley Hooker Bristol's Technical Director led to the P.1127 forerunner to the Harrier. Such was its success that it was also built under licence in America by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and the Americans along with the British aided in improving it for both later American (AV-8B) and British (GR5, GR7, GR9) versions. The Harrier has fought in several theatres including the Falklands, former Yugoslavia, Iraq and Afghanistan. Roving its value time and time again as a formidable fighter bomber.

Pain and suffering can give you inner strength, or break you. Each novel in the series is a stage in Jean's life, one girl's story. This book covers her childhood years.Once you have read Jean's story, you will understand more about courage and cowardice.'Often hilarious, sometimes heart-wrenching, always touching. You will be rooting for Jean Ridgeway, as she battles her domestic abuser, and her own fears with the help of her friends. This wonderful childhood tale spans the UK and the 1960's racial hotbed of Singapore, and is made all the more engaging by the fact that it is loosely based on a true story. The tale is the first in a series of six novels, charting Jean's colourful life.Marie Jensen has delivered plenty already, and the remaining volumes in the saga promise much more.' STEVE STONE'This is the story of a young child who suffered a horrendous upbringing of physical and psychological abuse. You will experience, through Jean Ridgeway's innocent eyes, every emotion to its extreme, from love to hatred, laughter to sadness, hope to despair. It is written in a style that holds nothing back, and compels the reader on and on. NATALIE COOK'Epic story of a magical, yet disturbing childhood. Can't wait for the next book covering adolescence (?), to see how it all progresses.' SEAN MURDOCH'This tale of youth has it all. Fun, hurt, joy, despair, and all set against a background of a military service family traversing the UK and Singapore, interacting with racial tensions in the 1960's.' ARNIE TADWORTH'Electrifying masterclass in YA writing, but of enormous interest to adults too, as adventure, domestic abuse and mental health overlap.' MAX GRUBER'I've never known so many ecstatic highs and crashing lows, in just one book.Jean is surrounded by well-formed characters, ranging from her mother, father and brother, to teachers, extended family and friends. The climax is as shocking as it is riveting, as her abuser faces the greatest challenge to his cruel regime.' PAUL CONNE
The First World War brought a new kind of horror for man to endure. Not only the constant threat of bullets, bombs and gas, but also living conditions that were so bad, if we had been animals today, the British Army would have been in trouble for animal cruelty. I was one of the lucky ones to survive the trenches when millions did not make it back home, from all sides. The visions of my time in the trenches are etched in my mind as if it was yesterday. I can still see faces screaming out in pain, asking to be put out of their misery, mounds made up of bodies that cast an eerie shadow under the moonlight. The stench of death mixed with cordite wafting over you in the breeze...
As I neared Sinuiju at 35,000 feet, I could see the snow-covered Manchuria to my right. I pulled the stick back and pushed the throttle fully forward, my Sabre gained some height, before I pushed the stick hard over to perform a quick roll to the left, followed by a gut wrenching loop, over the MiG-15, desperately trying to escape my attack, but I had him in my sights. Thanks in large measure to its adjustable horizontal stabilizer, the F-86 flight controls were vastly superior to those on the MiG-15, usually giving us the edge in dogfights. I hit the fire button on the short, stubby stick with a trigger mechanism to fire the 80 calibre machine guns, and let off a burst of fire which ripped through the tail section of the Mig. This caused flames to shoot out of the tail section along with thick black smoke. The Mig stayed level for a short while before starting to go nose down - into a shallow dive before the dive got steeper and steeper and losing sight of the MiG below the clouds. The MiG-15s arrival in Korea, compelled the U.S. Air Force to begin deploying the new F-86 Sabre to Korea. Arriving on scene, the Sabre restored the balance to the air war. In comparison, the F-86 could out dive and out turn the MiG-15, but was inferior in rate of climb, ceiling, and acceleration.
Warbird Wrath is the gripping story of some incredible planes and their pilots during the Second World War. The book follows the Battle of Britain and the Air War in Europe as Spitfires, Hurricanes, Messerschmitt and Mustangs twist and turn in the skies over Europe trying to gain the upper hand, so they can chalk up another kill. The book looks at the history as well as the missions of some great fighter aircraft from the Second World War. Climb into the cockpit and get strapped in to feel what is was like to be a fighter pilot in World War Two. Read about some great American, British and German fighters, including the P-51, P-38, P-47, Spitfire, Hurricane, Me109, Me262 and FW190.
I volunteered to sneak up and throw a grenade into the bomb crater containing four Red Army soldier's as the rest of the company gave me some covering fire. At about five metres away, I threw in the grenade and it exploded. You can imagine the mess. The lone surviving Red Amy soldier stood up with blood pouring from his mouth, nose and ears. He stood there with rifle in hand - before I had time to shoot - he fired at me and I was hit in the shoulder. The force of the round knocked me off my feet and I hit my head on some rubble as I fell backwards. I heard the sound of more gunfire as the soldier who had shot at me was shot straight through the head. I heard the loud crack as the bullet hit his head piercing his helmet. Landser was the name used for the lower ranks of the German Army. Often overlooked by the more glamorous Lutfwaffe or Kreigsmarine, or even be at the cutting edge technology wise. But, the German infantry played a huge part in the success of Germany in the opening and later battles. They provided the strength and staying power for the German war machine. Even during the famed Blitzkrieg attacks the final outcome was often decided by man against man. Fighting from foxholes, ruined buildings and shattered woods to either defend or take new ground. German infantry fought a tenacious war still remaining an effective force even after heavy losses.
Rhythmic and rhyming poetry written from real life experiences and inspirations in an effort to show, if but one other human being that none of us are ever truly alone in our thoughts or experiences. In a world, where vanity and greed seem to be the only concern for a humanity run amuck, governed by a minority rule and politicians who's only endeavor is to get rich quick. A world full of such disbelief, counter-intuitive thinking and skewed perceptions of reality based on self-centered thought projections by those who lack any empathy for their fellow man.
Delta Force has been fighting hard against Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria and Iraq along with other special forces since 2014. Using real operations that Delta Operators have undertaken in Syria and Iraq between 2015 and 2016. A gripping picture is built using first hand accounts of a war against fanatics. Fighting a war against a highly funded and highly motivated terror organisation. Who see death as an honor and the pathway to become a martyr. Key operations undertaken by Delta in both Iraq and Syria are covered with one operator paying the ultimate price. This is a war where elite soldiers, aircraft, and the latest surveillance technology are fused together to take the fight directly to Islamic States door. Fighting fanatical jihadist's who want to turn the world bit by bit into one single Islamic State under Sharia Law. Putting Delta operators to the ultimate test of skill and valor deep behind enemy lines.

Excitement, thrills & extremely well drawn characters are even more refined in this 2nd book.I was taken from the very 1st page, & the action, twists & intrigue did not let up until the last word.In creating 'The Chinaman', a ruthless yet far from stereotypical assassin, Stone has shown the ability to fine tune villains as well as heroes.. a testament to writing acumen.A villain the reader will not soon forget! The plot includes time travel with the goal of preventing an assassination.. sub-plots & twists & turns are so deftly handled.. the parts of this unique book come together to form a very satisfying whole..the 2nd book in a series, the negative is that I will now have to wait to read the 3rd instalment! Confronting a hurricane with a neutron bomb from a B-2 Spirit gets serious cool points as well.Going against mother nature comes with an awesome sense of class this round. But first the Intrepid crew will have to survive another attempt at time travel to get behind the storms with enough time in their hands to prevent them. After that, saving the world from a Cold War comes down to taking on street gangs to get to bottom of who The Chinaman is, & just as importantly, who he is working for.I was left right up to the very end trying to figure out the mysteries of identities here. The tank is one of the most devastating and adaptable weapons on the battlefield. Since their initial conception in the early 1900s and first use by the French and British during World War One, the tank has been a constant and powerful symbol of modern warfare. During World War Two Allied and Axis tanks saw intense and devastating action. Two German Tanks the Tiger and Panther stand out as two highly revered if slightly unreliable tanks. During World War II. Both tanks took part in some of the deadliest tank battle of World War II. This true to life account paints a deadly picture of tank crews on the Eastern Front. The Tiger has been called an outstanding design for its time, it was over-engineered, using expensive materials and labour-intensive production methods. The Panther was intended to counter the Soviet T-34 as well as replace the outdated Panzer III and Panzer IV. It is considered one of the best tanks of World War II for its excellent fire power and protection. Both tanks though suffered from unreliability and the Red Army had a numerical advantage along with new tank designs which would help to turn the tide of World War 2.
Over preparation is a gift in an ideal world, although operationally that is not always the case. Intelligence can change by the minute; a firefight can change in seconds. All these are things that Delta operators train and prepare for, even if improvisation is all that you have left in a tactical situation. Something Delta has quickly become adept at since its inception. Post 9/11 JSOCs (Joint Special Operations Command) budget, capabilities and the collection of units has risen exponentially. Delta, along with other Special Forces have found themselves in almost constant demand since 9/11. This book is based on real operations in Afghanistan. Where the fast paced action is both gritty and graphical at times, as Delta Operators battle against overwhelming odds in a hostile land. Fighting a war hardened enemy with years of experience fighting occupying forces. Using Guerilla tactics and deadly IEDs to maim and kill as many coalition forces as they could. From the battle of Tora Bora, 10 weeks after 9/11 to the rescue of Helen Johnston the book gives a real insight into some fierce firefights and courageous rescue missions Delta undertook.
This collection holds all the works inspired by Loretta during the time that I knew her.The collection is divided into the following:* In the Beginning - works composed during the seductive phase* While in Arizona - poems and prose written while she was several states away* Postclimactic - words after findings, when 'twas clear that she did not plan to leave the unfaithful* Whimsical Wonders Under Whiskey - one evening of free-flowing remembrances and alcoholThe clamps were purchased exclusively for her titillation and enjoyment. The only benefit I hoped to catch was a glimpse of the ecstasy in her gasp of pleasure upon her face when her nipples felt the pinch within her bounce. Unfortunately, as she took these off early while she was straddling my nostrils, I was unable to witness anything I had hoped for previously when the transaction was made at Connexxtions. The whiskey ignited the fire hidden beneath her pad prior to the excursion. As the shots certainly lowered our inhibitions, I still have the unopened bottle of Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey that we intended to indulge in upon our next dance.I purchased the scarf for her as a seductive gift, suggesting constrained limbs to bed frames and/or blindfolds to heighten senses in our future exhibitions. Ironically, I may have been wearing the blindfold the entire time, as my wish for this fantasy to become a reality blinded me of my never-mentioned purpose of what is referred to as merely a tool in her "revenge affair."Considering all the coffees, gifts, flowers, etc., that I put into us, one can truly be Lost in the Irreplaceable Beauty that is Loretta. Doubtful that one will ever completely comprehend what was shared, and Stone will have to learn to live with that. He may not be meant to understand why he was insulted and shamefully dismissed. It may be best for him to be grateful for experiencing the magic that was enjoyed, while being thankful for the lesson that was learned regarding "separated" and "getting separated."
