This book will have a readership amongst teachers, academics and educational leaders.
This book examines issues pertaining to educational technology in both a face-to-face, in-person school setting and in a virtual online environment within the context of the Middle East. Literature published about this topic has traditionally been authored through the lens of Western-educated academics. However, this work is one of only a few books that give a voice to local school teachers in the K-12 sector, who have real-world, hands- on experience of integrating technology enhanced learning principles and approaches into their daily practice. The book begins by addressing fundamental concepts about digital education, then moves onto discussing innovative learning models, which are currently being implemented in Middle Eastern schools. This book will have a readership amongst undergraduate and postgraduate students, higher education scholars, and educational leaders.
This book discusses several issues related to the teaching of English as a second language (ESL) or as a foreign language (EFL) to native speakers of Arabic. It presents both empirical research studies and personal narratives of educators based specifically in the Middle East region. Most literature about the challenges of teaching the English language within this context focuses on linguistic matters, such as first language (L1) interference. However, this book addresses multiple sociolinguistic issues, such as gender; as well as pedagogical factors, such as the use of appropriate questioning techniques. This book will have a readership amongst applied linguists, EFL / ESL teachers, and educational leaders.
This book explores several matters related to online, blended and hybrid learning, specifically in the Gulf region. The coronavirus lockdown forced every teacher at every level to adopt some sort of strategy to manage technology-enhanced learning; and since the end of the pandemic, many educators are keen on further developing their technological skills. The contributors to this book have extensive knowledge of educational technology, and in each chapter, they share their personal ideas, beliefs and experiences. This book will have a readership amongst educational leaders, academic researchers and postgraduate students.
