Thomas Baker (1656-1740) traces the history of St John's College, Cambridge in this book, edited and published in 1869. Baker, an avid historian, amassed a wealth of archival information on which to base his account of the college's foundation in 1511 and its architecture, benefactors, governance, masters and students during its first two centuries.
