Mindslip - an extraordinary book. Some claim it is truly unique. It blends science fiction with soft psychological horror and unexpected humour. Read the reviews! It starts when Betelgeuse turns supernova and showers the Earth with unexpected radiation. It changes everything. You will never look at your pet, the opposite sex, the old, or the young the same way again after reading this story. Mindslip's plot is totally preposterous, yet Harmsworth has written it as if it is happening to you, right now. You are astrophysicist, Geoff Arnold, and suddenly you find your body is changed beyond all recognition. You then discover that your wife and children have vanished into a world you can hardly recognise. Can you find them and save the world from the effects of Mindslip? Prepare to be immersed in bizarre and unexpected characters and imagine their impossible, yet frighteningly realistic predicaments. Mindslip was penned by Tony Harmsworth, a new British author who has already achieved two UK Kindle bestsellers in his first year. Review from AmazonCom: 5.0 out of 5 starsMost intriguing and different sci-fi book I've ever readReviewed in the United States on December 26, 2019This was the most different and interesting sci-fi book I've ever read. I don't know of anyone that's written anything like it. To have people's minds transferred more or less randomly to other people and even animals opens up a whole host of societal problems that have to be dealt with. And in a great case of karma, some major conservative religious figures get transferred into women! And the Scientist's attempted solution to transfer human minds inside animals back to humans opens up another set of moral and ethical issues. Prepare to be astounded - read Mindslip today.
Moonstruck is the second of the Mark Noble space adventures. Reading Moonscape first is strongly advised. After the frantic escape from the moon at the end of Moonscape, Mark has only just recovered when he discovers that the United States, together with the Chinese and Russians, are planning an invasion of Moonbase, and they want him to command it. Penny, an old flame of Mark's, is on the mission and this infuriates wife Linda, who has been grounded. Twenty-six others form the crew. Not only is it the biggest space expedition in history, but it also represents the most people ever to have been on the moon at the same time, and the most manned spacecraft in orbit too. Can Mark control the fourteen strong military contingent? As the story develops, he realises that he does not have as much authority as he believed.Once again, Harmsworth has combined hard science fiction together with a fanciful, yet plausible story with totally convincing characters. If Mark has international cooperation and support, how could anything go wrong? Surely a single offensive should be enough? No! The vicious mid-story plot-twist changes everything.Find out what happens in Moonstruck.

Many thanks. Time travel, quantum entanglement, ancient buildings and an ordinary man walking his dog who ultimately saves humanity... Excellent!"
Federation & Earth - is book two in the Federation Trilogy. This is a trilogy, so reading Federation first is absolutely essential. After the dramatic and unexpected turn of events at the end of the first book, Earth is left with several factions trying to resolve the situation. The new president of the USA is attempting to secure his hold on power, while a new group who have named themselves FREE AMERICA, is seeking to overthrow what it considers an illegitimate regime. Elsewhere, the new Secretary General of the United Nations is working with the smaller Security Council to try to bring the rest of the world together after the events at the end of the book one. Can the aliens be convinced to provide help or are they just going to watch from orbit? Take a care. You won't enjoy this story unless you are open to political concepts which could never work on Earth as it was before the trilogy began i.e. now. If you like speculative fiction, open your mind and enjoy the adventure. This book is like Marmite [look it up], you will either love it or hate it!
While this book can be read as a one-off, parts will make little sense unless you have read Trappist-1. It is highly recommended that you read the whole series - Moonscape, Moonstruck and Trappist-1 to fully understand human enhancement and understand the storyline.THE SPOLDING CONUNDRUMThe Spolding Conundrum is book four in the exciting Mark Noble space adventures series.Following Moonscape and Moonstruck, Mark's team of entity-enhanced humans set off to Trappist-1 in the search for an Earth-like planet. The newly discovered spolding drive, which exploits the difference between normal space and the dark universe, cuts travel time to fractions of what might otherwise be needed. At the end of Trappist-1, book 3, the depleted crew make the horrific discovery that something has gone terribly wrong. The world is different, satellites have vanished, the space station has gone, and only astrophysicist Mary has the slightest idea why. After the shocking revelation that the problem was caused by the spolding drive, the crew try to analyse what happened and how they might return to their own Earth. Is backtracking the answer? They decide that they have no alternative other than to try. If it didn't work, they could wander, lost, through the local universe until their supplies eventually ran out.Back in the Trappist-1 system, they learn that things have changed there too, but the biggest surprise is encountered when they orbit the frozen surface of icy planet G. They hear distinct radio signals from the surface. The discovery makes it even more imperative to return to Earth, and soon. There is far more at stake than just the lives of the Spirit crew. Hundreds more are threatened with the inevitability of a long drawn out death.Just when plans are beginning to look promising, another paradox hits the crew. One with incredible repercussions. Will rescue arrive in the nick of time? Find out in The Spolding Conundrum!
Warning: It is essential to read the trilogy in the correct order - FEDERATION; FEDERATION & EARTH; and finally HIDDEN FEDERATION.Alien university professor and author, Yol Rummy Blin Breganin, continues his research on the planet Earth. He introduces, into this final volume, some stories from the distant past of the Federation, which provide a greater insight into the vast alien empire. In the only free and independent part of the planet Earth - the United States of America - the populace is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the growing authoritarianism. With California in revolt, can the USA retain its own independence in this rebellious climate? Elsewhere on Earth, in the Federation territories, is life becoming too comfortable for the ordinary humans? Will the world be allowed to settle down to its life of luxury or will it turn the new utopia into hell as it has always done in the past? The final part of the Federation Trilogy contains the answers.
THE VISITOR - hard, near-future science fiction for the reader who likes realism.Specialist astronaut Evelyn Slater encounters a small, badly damaged, ancient, alien artefact (British spelling) on the first ever space-junk elimination mission. Where was it from? Who sent it?International governments impose a security clampdown. Evelyn leads a team of hand-picked scientists who make amazing discoveries within the alien device. Secrecy becomes impossible to maintain. When the news is finally released, she becomes embroiled in international politics, worldwide xenophobic hatred and violence. This is book one of Tony Harmsworth's First Contact series of novels. If you like realistic near-future stories which compel you to imagine yourself as the protagonist, The Visitor is the book for you.The Visitor - science fiction written for the 'thinking' reader, and with a wicked twist. Buy it now and be transported into orbit.Amazon reviews: "At first I was put off by negative reviews but upon further analysis, I figured the story could also be like a Rorschach test- comments may be seen as a projection of one's mind. I am glad I did not rely on negative reviews as I would have missed a good experience." "This is unquestionably the finest first contact novel I have ever read. All of the activity that takes place in outer space is realistic, well-informed yet easygoing. It is a completely plausible milieu and this adds considerably to the gravitas and integrity of the plot and its theme." "If you want to get a feel for this book reading the reviews won't help. The vast majority of reviews fall strictly across political party lines. I felt the book itself had a unique concept on first contact and was well written. I however feel that the reviews will be tainted by ones right or left leaning views." "The action picked up and quickly developed into a most beautiful, yet cautionary, tale of intersecting cultures. Some readers have complained of the story's 'political correctness'; I would call it 'humane correctness'. What's not to love about a distaste for violence, fear, xenophobia, and their fruits?" "I recommend this book very highly."
In a breathtaking hundred pages, Tony takes you from the arrival of Mesolithic people in the Highlands of Scotland in 6000BC, through Scotland's story right up to the Scottish Parliament of today.Enjoy learning about the transition from hunter gathering to farming, the invasion of the Picts and their long rule before the Scots muscled into Argyll. As the Scottish nation emerges, learn of elected kings, the injustices of William Shakespeare's assassination of Macbeth's character and the effects on Scotland of the conquering of England by the Normans in 1066AD.After Normanisation comes the annexation of Scotland by Edward I, William Wallace, followed by the true Braveheart's struggle for freedom and eventual independence, only to have it all literally given away to the arch enemy by Scotland's own king less than three hundred years later. Finally, experience the pathos of the Jacobite uprisings but then thrill to the possibility of the nation rising once more as the new millennium dawns.
Trappist-1 is Mark Noble Space Adventure book three. It is strongly advised, but not absolutely essential, to read Moonscape and Moonstruck first.Following the 2030 discovery of quantum spolding (space folding), interstellar exploration becomes a possibility. NASA, together with private space exploration companies, begin work on the complex physics, technology, and hardware to turn it into reality. After a test flight to Mars, more hazardous than anyone anticipated, the starship Spirit and its two Rimor shuttles set off for the dwarf red star, Trappist-1, almost forty light years from the solar system. Haven, the fifth Trappist planet, has continents and seas, icecaps, glaciers and mountains, but the ubiquitous plant life they find is, at first, dull and uninteresting. However, it doesn't take long for them to discover that Haven isn't a place on which to find shelter. It does, in fact, have the most terrifying secret, only discovered during the last day of the expedition. As realisation dawns, Mark and his team end up in an existential struggle. When they finally appear to have resolved their disastrous visit to the planet's surface, they discover an even bigger surprise awaiting them in orbit. It promises so much. Could it be enough to revitalise the whole mission and turn failure into success?Harmsworth's Mark Noble Space Adventures, of which Trappist-1 is book three, contain no space battles, or fantasy environments, but follow real science as closely as possible. Having said that, in order to travel between the stars, there must some suspension of belief to allow for the development of quantum spolding, for which Tony requires your forgiveness. Who knows, though, whether it might foretell the future? In this story, Tony blends hard science fiction with a large dollop of imagination, and a substantial pinch of horror to add flavour.
Raducanu's Fairy Tale in New YorkIn August and early September 2021, a British teenage tennis player, Emma Raducanu, defied all expectations by winning the US Open Tennis Championship. She was the first qualifier ever to win any major in the open era, male or female. In doing so, she won ten consecutive matches without losing a set, a feat never before achieved in a Grand Slam event. It has been called one of the greatest achievements in sporting history. So much so, that Raducanu went on to win the British Sports Personality of the Year, Woman's Tennis Association's Newcomer of the Year, and Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year. Her US Open win has been dubbed "The Fairy Tale in New York". The achievement will never be forgotten, but it is likely, in future, to become no more than a TV clip or magazine article. The extraordinary effect it had on the experts and professionals of the time - Henman, Navratilova, Courier, Rusedski, Petchey, Croft, Keothavong, Fernandez, Stubbs, Whitaker, Hantuchova and others will all be lost. This is the reason for my book. I do not attempt to describe each point as you might hear it in a radio broadcast, but what I have done is give an understanding of how each point played built towards Raducanu's unique achievement. It also includes the opinions of the experts, whose interest turned first to admiration, from admiration to amazement, amazement to disbelief, and disbelief to absolute astonishment. How that all built up can only be understood by following an account of Emma Raducanu's passage through the entire tournament. I hope it will prove an inspiration to every young tennis player with dreams of reaching a Grand Slam final - and winning it. 20% of the proceeds will go to Plan International after production costs.
Loch Ness Understood by Tony Harmsworth is the most comprehensive Loch Ness book this century. It is an update of Loch Ness, Nessie and Me, first published in 2010. It exposes fakes, hoaxes and pseudoscience and shows how the story grew from an interesting local legend into the most famous mystery of modern times. Whether or not you believe in the mystery, how that mystery grew from humble beginnings to world fame is a fascinating story in its own right and this book explains all. However, it contains more than just the monster. It is a GEOGRAPHY of Loch Ness; the BIOGRAPHY of Nessie, the world's favourite monster and the AUTOBIOGRAPHY of Tony Harmsworth, the best known Loch Ness commentator. It is the first book on the subject to be penned by someone who has lived overlooking Loch Ness for more than thirty years. A SUPERB READ FROM BEGINNING TO END!
