Perspectives is author and poet Victor Dyck's latest collection of poetry, comprising forty-one heartfelt and incisive works, a number of which explore, in various ways, the question posed in the title of the following poem, "What is Reality?" "Your psychiatrist or therapist best friend or wife husband / can tell you what it is as soon as someone describes reality / especially in a big city something changes / paranoid schizophrenic in a dangerous city / psychotic in a psychotic city / there are more pleasant walks in parks in a big city / you need hope against hope especially in a big city"
The Third Eye is the latest collection of poetry by Victor Dyck.
MY BODY MY SOUL is author and poet Victor Dyck's latest collection of poetry, comprising forty-five heartfelt and incisive works including "Restriction and Freedom" Our minds and thoughts can begin at infinite reference points/Like an infinity of novels, skimming for your favorite lines/Talking about deep, important things in the universe with your wife/Society is the editor, the proofreader, of our thoughts and talk/It makes us narrow down our thoughts and speech/To work, college/Children playing with toys/The weather has no reference points/Animals only for hunting and breeding the right types/The place where trees and flowers/The seeds blown in the wind can land anywhere/Just like a sentence in a novel has no beginning, middle, or end/This is the restrictive part we choose/Even imagination has a reference point.
YOUR SPIRIT NO ONE CAN DESTROY! Unfortunately, in many societies, rules of thought or behavior do change part of some people's spirits. And this can be detrimental to an individual's happiness and social life, especially if you're mentally ill and meet your soul mate, who is part of society, and the way your spirit was changed, even slightly, causes the loss of a potential wife! Let's say a Nobel Prize winner and professor of physics becomes too groggy from his psychiatric medications to teach effectively! I often wonder if all so-called normal minds and souls usually believe they contain some elements of mental illness, but are cunning in hiding it through the vast tricky complex and profound maze of societies like a fly flying and sliding through the spider web of society's normalities. Suppose everybody in the world had some mental illness, but those who got labeled as mentally ill were just unlucky, getting caught like a fly in a spider web. A lot of Americans mask their mental illness - probably anxiety mostly, through drinking - but a few of them are really mentally ill. They are just so good at deceiving themselves and their coworkers, friends, and spouses! But -- mental illness or no -- your spirit no one can destroy!
