The "Sepher Yetzirah," or "Book of Formation," is perhaps the oldest Rabbinical treatise of Kabalistic philosophy which is still extant, but it is not in any sense a narrative of Creation, or a substitute Genesis, but is an ancient and instructive philosophical treatise upon one aspect of the origin of the universe and mankind; an aspect at once archaic and essentially Hebrew. -- The Collectanea Hermetica is a 10 volume set of Occult Hermetic books edited by William Wynn Westcott. These Oracles are considered to embody many of the principal features of Chaldæan philosophy. They have come down to us through Greek translations and were held in the greatest esteem throughout antiquity, a sentiment which was shared alike by the early Christian Fathers and the later Platonists. The doctrines contained therein are attributed to Zoroaster aka Zarathustra. -- The Collectanea Hermetica is a 10 volume set of Occult Hermetic books edited by William Wynn Westcott. The Æsch Mezareph or Ash Metzareph is a Kabalistic and Alchemical text originally known to persons of Western Culture from the Latin Translation found in a fragmentary condition in the work entitled "Kabalala Denudata" by Knorr von Rosenroth, published at Sulzbach in 1677-84. However, The Æsch Metzareph is still extant as a separate treatise in what is called the Hebrew language, but which is more properly Aramaic Chaldee: it was a companion volume to the Chaldean Book of Numbers so often referred to by H. P. Blavatsky. The text was re-constructed from its scattered fragments, almost in its entirety, by "The Lover of Philalethes", who published the English version of 1714. The present volume is a Reprint of that English version. -- The Collectanea Hermetica is a 10 volume set of Occult Hermetic books edited by William Wynn Westcott. There is great reason to believe that this "Enquiry into the Hermetic Art", first published in 1714, led to the composition of the still more extended and more spiritually conceived volume, the "Suggestive Enquiry into the Hermetic Mystery and Alchemy", which was published anonymously in 1850. This latter volume is an almost complete review of Alchemy on the spiritual plane. This volume has a distinct reference to the science of Alchemy referred to the plane of human improvement, although it is also definitely concerned with the equally possible, though almost incredible power of transmutation upon the material plane. -- The Collectanea Hermetica is a 10 volume set of Occult Hermetic books edited by William Wynn Westcott. This volume contains the English translation by Dr. Everard, 1650, of seventeen tracts (of which the Pymamder is one) attributed to Hermes Trismegistos, otherwise Mercurius Termaximus, or in the Egyptian language, Thoth, or Taautes or Tat. In this tract the Pymander is giving instruction to Hermes the sage, in the capacity of Divine teacher to human pupil. A parallel conception is seen in the Bhagavad Gita, where Krishna teaches Arjuna. -- The Collectanea Hermetica is a 10 volume set of Occult Hermetic books edited by William Wynn Westcott.
