Walter Flex: Der Wanderer zwischen beiden Welten Die autobiografisch geprägte Kriegsnovelle wurde 1916 unmittelbar nach Erscheinen zu einem der größten Verkaufserfolge des Jahrhunderts und beeinflusste eine ganze Generation junger Männer. Sie wurde schließlich auch von den Nationalsozialisten vereinnahmt, die die homoerotischen Anklänge offensichtlich überlesen hatten. Der schlagartig berühmt gewordene Autor Walter Flex wurde 1917 von der Front abkommandiert, um an der Kriegsdarstellung in Berlin zu arbeiten.
