We are pleased to present our latest collection of sightings and encounters with America's most mysterious animal! "Sasquatch is Out There" is composed of encounters with Bigfoot in the words of those who made contact with these creatures in their own habitat. Most of these adventures were chance encounters, as seems to be pretty much the norm when it comes to the majority of reports we have received. Our story submitters seem to agree that those parties that go out deliberately with the intention of finding Sasquatch, seem to result in failure, as the animals appear to immediately sense their approach and can be miles away in mere minutes. The stories in this book are reports of actual sightings and encounters by people who were, before these experiences, relative strangers to the Sasquatch. One select group of Bigfoot researcher's actually conducted an organized exploration deep into the Rocky Mountains seeking proof as to whether or not the Bigfoot hibernates. This subject has been highly controversial among Sasquatch researchers, and this particular study from this team of volunteers has reached a conclusion regarding the rather large group of Sasquatch that they selected for their study. Another of the stories selected for this book is from an Oregon beachcomber who is challenged by a Sasquatch for possession of a rare Japanese glass float. You'll read about the couple, who against their realtor's wishes, sold their home because the Sasquatch family was included in the deal. We have included a wide variety of Bigfoot stories that came with credible evidence, and we hope you enjoy them as much as we did.

The almost unknown world of the murderous Skinwalker has never been so fully exposed before this book. The terrible ability of this creature to morph between man and animal with its shapeshifting ability creates an evil and dangerous entity that defies all reason!Being that it still lives among our Native American population after centuries of relatively few documented incidents attests to the frightening power it possesses. At long last the secrets of these shadowy beings are revealed and the dark curtain of secrecy has been lifted by those brave individuals who have dared to bring these monsters into the light! The editors have gone to extreme measures to protect the identity of the contributors.The accompanying stories and events regarding our Native American Peoples are the true stories of those unfortunate victims, who in their ignorance have removed items from Native American burial sites. The spirits, who appear to be guardians of the graves of the departed, can and do suffer horrible consequences upon those who have stolen items or caused damage or destruction to the sacred resting places of these first Americans. These reports are by survivors, some of whom who have been able to seek a reversal of the curses or by surviving relatives of those who received the revenge of the spirits. The frighteningly true results and the severe penalties exacted upon those who have desecrated, or even slightly disturbed, the resting places of the Native Americans are revealed as a cautionary explanation that has never been fully clarified to the tourist who carelessly stumbles upon such sacred sites.

In choosing the title for this book, we were influenced by several Navajo advisors and their many references to the connection they so very often refer to between our current world and the world beyond earth. It is the well-established belief that the all-powerful Navajo gods were suddenly called away by the "creator," as they were needed in other worlds. They departed our earth through a "Grand Sipapu" (the circular hole in the floor of the main kiva). Knowing that they were unlikely to every return to earth, the gods left behind them a way by which their people could, if ever needed, crate a "minor god" who would have some of the abilities of their predecessors; such as the power to shapeshift or to assume the identity of another form; such as a bird or animal and then be able to return to their previous human body.A word of caution to our readers; whether one chooses to believe the information on the powers associated with the witch known as "yee naaldlooshii" (Skinwalker) or not; the authors recommend following the policy that we ourselves strictly adhere to. We never say either the Navajo word, nor its English interpretation aloud. Many of the Skinwalker stories in this collection take place near the famous Skinwalker Ranch and in the Navajo Nation. We began our reports on the Skinwalker purely by chance while researching Native American curses with a Shaman friend of ours. There seemed to be a fine line between the tribal beliefs and when we were introduced to another Native holy man from yet a different tribe, there were some similarities, but with many of its people there were occasional comments about yee naaldlooshii. (The avenging witch of the Navajo Nation.) That's where the cut-off came. The Skinwalker belongs totally to the Navajo people and this subject brought up a curtain between our research into tribal customs. Researching the Skinwalker has been totally different for us, and we can't say it's been enjoyable. The open introductions and friendly sharing of information we experienced when researching Native American Curses did not carry over to Skinwalker research. Although this study required an adjustment to our methods of research, we have been forced to make many more security checks and precautions, both for the protection of our story submitters and our personal safety; which we must say has on many occasions been really on the edge of safe procedures. When one sees a heavily disguised person with whom you have been speaking for half an hour, walk into the semi-darkness outside of the building and totally disappear is scary enough, but to see that person transform into a black-tail deer in front of your eyes and run into a nearby forest, is unnerving to say the least. This kind of "freak-out moment" isn't something one can brush aside. Driving along a one lane highway with the full moon enhancing the spooky rock formations of a lonely desert road can become even scarier if suddenly one notices an antelope keeping pace with your sixty miles an hour. As if that scare isn't enough, couple that with the fact that you notice as the animal cuts off across the desert it's running on its hind legs! When we first heard about these occurrences, we were suspicious, and soon after, we saw it in person!We were fortunate that when we began our research into this mysterious witch, we had been thoroughly briefed by a medicine man of the Sioux tribe, and friends with the Apache, Comanche and several others about the tricks we may be confronted with. Even though the yee naaldlooshii is solely attached to the Navajo people, the other tribes are well aware of its existence, however, it has been explained to us in a "round about" way that the witches and curses associated with the individual tribes seldom seem to cross the line. We chose early on to do our best to report the stories submitted to us without passing judgement.

This collection of Sasquatch encounters includes several reports that took longer than usual to complete, due to additional correspondence to confirm through additional witnesses and other sources; some heretofore unreported instances of questionable relationships between our story submitters' and their Bigfoot acquaintances.An example of the necessity we felt to confirm some of the more unusual reports, was the person who purchased a rural property and from the outset, he experienced an encounter with some resident Sasquatch which was quite unpleasant. According to the submitter, he was pestered and harassed by these creatures until it came down to a violent confrontation causing him to use a firearm. There were no injuries, but he learned too late how to relate to these resident Sasquatch and he sold the home and property and returned to the city. Another couple had back-to-back encounters with Sasquatch and they report how the clever Bigfoot actually changed their methods of disguising their presence, by using tree branches to erase their own tracks to their secret fishing hole in the Washington state mountains. Forced to abandon their second excursion by a sudden forest fire, our reports had the experience of a lifetime. Another submitter inherited a lakeshore cabin in Michigan, and once again was reunited with Sasquatch he had first met as a child when visiting his grandfather. Both human and Sasquatch were reunited over the gravesite of the grandfather's golden Labrador companion, whom both human and Sasquatch shared memories. This collection seems to share a common thread of closer involvement between species than most, and even though the research required more checks and balances, we thoroughly enjoyed sharing our submitters' excitement.

The majority of the stories in "Bigfoot Uncovered" took place in the Pacific Northwest and there are also encounters that happened in Colorado and Idaho. These exciting stories have never appeared anywhere in print until now.These authors come from all walks of life; including doctors, educators, state and federal employees, and a myriad of people whose lives and careers could be affected if their identities were revealed. We have taken great care to guarantee the privacy of every author, and due to having proven our confidentiality, these new stories have arrived from submitters, many of whom have held back for years out of privacy concerns. They finally are able to share their excitement!So how did we get these stories of sightings and encounters with this obscure and reclusive creature? It is a result of our hiking book, "Hiking Sasquatch Country." The years we spent hiking the beautiful and rugged Southern Oregon and northernmost California areas brought us into contact with many hikers, campers, gold miners and those rugged individuals who live "off the grid!" While also documenting our hikes with over 1,800 online photos, we met a great many people who mentioned experiences with Sasquatch, and though we had heard of the creature we had never seen one; that is until...that's another story.We put out the word that we would publish actual sightings and encounters and guarantee total anonymity to our submitters (if they so wished), and the stories began coming in.The first submissions were included in "Hiking Sasquatch Country," and then for the people not interested in the hikes, but only the stories; we published "They Saw Sasquatch." "Sasquatch Encounters" is another book of additional reports by more people who had personal stories of sightings and encounters while visiting the Pacific Northwest and from residents who were reticent about their experiences for fear of being construed as "wacky," as several submitters commented, but they still wanted to tell their story. There are also Bigfoot stories in "Sasquatch Encounters" that happened in other Western and Midwestern states.Our sincere thanks to our authors, and we look forward to feedback on the theories espoused by a few of these writers on why Bigfoot bodies are never found. Three people actually had a hold of one until the treacherous Rogue River wrenched it away!

These reports come from many states and are told by the people who have met this elusive dweller of our forests.Al Capone's incident was found in a very old article that was prepared for printing in the Chicago Sun Times newspaper, but languished all these years in an old trunk! The stories in this book have never been in print or online before. The majority of the encounters in "They Saw Sasquatch" were submitted by residents of the Southern Oregon area where we spent years hiking the beautiful and rugged mountains. We personally had several mysterious events which can only be logically attributed to the actual existence of a creature the likes of which is so human-like, that we now are able to accept the many reports received from our contributors as highly probable! Included are encounters reported by a U.S. Forestry Service agent, two Bureau of Land Management agents, a fireman, a sheriff's deputy, a doctor, ranchers, rural property owners, an accredited Sasquatch hunter, hikers and full-time goldminers, as well as some tourists and river rafters. Those who have reported their sightings and encounters have heretofore been reluctant or unable to do so, because of employment constraints. Additionally, these are mostly private and absolutely credible people who do not wish to expose themselves or their families to any criticism. The publishers have not edited or embellished these stories other than a few spelling or punctuation corrections. Some of our contributors have chosen to remain anonymous, so we have protected their identities.We hope you enjoy reading about these interesting and sometimes frightening encounters as much as we did!

This is our third release of what began as a study of the superstitions and beliefs of our Native American people. While we were visiting with a Shaman friend of ours, the discussion crossed that fine line between superstitions and tribal religious beliefs to the vengeful and terribly evil witch known as Skinwalker. Our friend made an introduction for us to a highly respected holy man who acted as a protective guide and buffer between us and any direct contact with the Navajo witch known in the Diné culture as "yee naaldlooshii." Once we began learning more about these creatures, that buffer has been most important, and that is why publishing this; our third volume containing these Skinwalker reports, has been so long in coming. We have made every precaution to protect the identities of our reporters and informers whose desire to finally be able to see their stories in print can be realized at long last! This book explores the property of co-reference within various texts as a possible means of distinguishing genre types. Based on observed rather than invented material, it supplies empirical data on co-reference as a cohesive mechanism within authentic English texts. Co-referential form and frequency are identified in nine texts representing three genres: academic journals, news magazine articles and fictional narrative texts. This study offers not only quantitative but also qualitative information regarding co-reference in three individual text types, thereby laying the foundation for a comparative study of the three different genres. Focusing on the property of co-reference in this way singles out differences in language use and allows for some pertinent statements to be made regarding modes of co-reference as an indicator of text variety.
