This book traces the history of the Frangipanis, an Italian family, from the first days of the ancient Roman Republic through their powerful influence during the Middle Ages until the present day. The family's story starts with the Ancii, an ancient and prominent Roman plebeian clan. It continues with the tale of Flavius, the "bread breaker" who gave food to the poor and gave the family its surname. The main tale of the Frangipanis is how they were a powerful Medieval Roman family who were involved in the complex politics of Italy from 1000 to 1500. They were continuing playing the German Holy Roman Empire, the French, the Normans and the Papacy against one another for their own benefit. They did so by ruling with mob-like tactics from a fortress in the city that included the Colosseum. There was a nice side of the family, too. Included is the tale of St. Ottone, the family's saint and Jacoba, a close friend of St. Francis of Assisi. The books tells of the one Frangipani who became pope, Benedict XIII and of Muzio whose actions made family's name associated with a flower and dessert. Finally, this book concludes with the modern members of the family and where the famous family's descendants live throughout the world. For the story of the Frangipanis is the story of Italy from ancient times until today. It is full of wonderful tales of the brave and the weak, those on the right side of history and the wrong, and of nobles and the common men and women. This books' original intent was for the extended family throughout the world but it can be enjoyed by anyone with an interest in the history of this fascinating part and time of the world.

This is the third and last book of a series on the BMW 3-series. It is car that defines the sport sedan. This book covers the fifth and sixth generations of cars, the E90 and F30. Both generations are very controversial. With the E90, thanks to the chief designer, Chris Bangle, there were boldly aggressive changes to the iconic design. The iDrive interactive system confused many a driver. Even the supercar, the M3, had a V8 engine, which for many folks was like putting a moustache on the Mona Lisa. This is the story of the middle two generations of the 3-series: the E36 and E46 generations. To fund it, he believes using our present federal tax system is the simplest and fairest. He shows that SPUN will save our country money. He analyses the finances of different individuals and businesses and shows they all come out ahead with his plan.He then looks at how SPUN would operate. Doctors still will work for themselves. Patients will retain the choice of where to go for care. However, the single-payer insurance will cover everyone. The coverage will be broad, too, covering dental, eye, mental health, long-term medical care and medications. The price tag for drugs will drop as SPUN will use its market power. There will an approval system of for what tests, medications and procedures are allowed, based on scientific evidence. Good health practices, like eating vegetables, will be subsidized. While bad health practices, like eating junk food, will be taxed. How practitioners get reimbursed will change. To encourage physicians to spend more time on your care, they will be paid by time. To encourage innovation, hospitals will be paid by diagnosis. This will reduce the cost of medical billing. There will the elimination of non-profit hospitals, a restructuring of medical education costs and a greater reliance on non-physician providers.To make the flow of health information more efficient, a single repository will exist for all medical information. Part of this system will be a patient health app. Such a system will be a gold mine of medical data. Dr. Frangipane's proposes a no-fault system for medical liability reform where victims of unexpected medical events receive compensation without the assignment of blame. He details a centralized, national system of healthcare licenses and evaluations.This book next describes how to streamline the practice of medicine. This includes physicians having ownership of each of a patient's medical problems. Patients, too, will be made more responsible for their own care. Healthwebs will be created that will coordinate healthcare. It continues the tale of when the Bureau of Engraving and Printing took over the task of making our stamps. The Bureau would go on to print almost all United States stamps for the next century. The book explores why the Bureau took over and the problems they had when they first started making stamps. But the Bureau was a quick learner as soon after they would go on and create the finest group of United States stamps of all time, the Omaha commemorative series. Next, the first regular series and the first several commemorative series of the twentieth century are reviewed. A detour is made to review both all United States postage due and special delivery stamps since these stamps were introduced about this time. So discussing them now is both a review and a preview of all United States stamp production. The last chapter is a series of updates and corrections. The author realizes that the knowledge of United States stamps is in continual growth, so this last chapter keeps the first volume of the series up to date.
