This book is an unadorned chronicle of Ms. Wilma Holloway's personal journal written about her life, marriage, divorce, singleness, and accumulation of acquaintances and friendships with very diverse, yet alluring men. She uses selected scriptures to guide her during these very rousing and emerging experiences. 2Timothy 1:12...That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day. While Paul makes reference to his imprisonment, Ms. Holloway suggest these situations are a reminder that God is involved in the daily routine of what appears to be unconventional systems when it comes to dating and having friendships with men in this modern culture. Looking at life and the metamorphosis of change she experienced, she realized that God has a plan which caused her to begin to relax. God has a plan for everything, even the rejections that broke her heart and God's grace and loving mercy that healed her wounded spirit! It is a reminder that all things work for good. Ms. Holloway says, "God has graciously blessed me more than I could have ever imagined! I hold 2Timothy 1:12 as a mantra which exemplifies why I trust God in all things." Also, in Numbers 6:23, we are again reminded in the passage of scripture where Aaron is given instructions on how to bless people in the name of the Lord that they may enjoy God's protection and favor during a time of separation. The world has a way of condemning without knowing the facts. This is particularly true with believers. Divorce is frowned upon in the church, leaving those experiencing divorce few places of refuge and grace. Like most women, Ms. Holloway discovers after divorce that singleness is a lonely place. The change is uncomfortable and disturbing, and her conscious questioned every decision. However, Apostle Paul speaks of learning the value of contentment in Philippians 4:12. After much anxiety and soul searching, Ms. Holloway has emerged as a stronger, confident woman recognizing what "true value" is. Through Ms. Holloway's written journal, she tells her personal story of her divorce and a thirteen-year journey of singleness, reminding us of God's providence. God is always involved in our lives.
