We are spirit, soul, and body. What happens in one area can have an outcome that will affect your child's behavior and their belief system. The bible says that as a man thinks so is he. What your child is thinking and believing is very important. What you are thinking and believing is equally as important. You may find during your reading that you too have some unresolved issues. Be open to praying for yourself in much the same way as we have encouraged you to pray for your children. You have a responsibility to yourself to keep watch over your and their being, your and their entire being! Parents, you are the most significant influencers in your children's lives. You have an opportunity to invest into the kingdom of God by stewarding your children well. This book has tools that will teach you how to pray for your children, which you can use along your journey. But tools are no good left on the shelf. What is necessary is for you to put them into action. In everything you do, do it all in the way of love.
Does God answer prayers? Do we believe it? If you don't, then why pray? This book teaches how to pray with results that reflect the goodness of God to His children. Righteousness, humility, authority are all necessary when we pray. Learn more about effective prayer through the pages of this book.
Giving is a response to God's heart within us. Many of us have struggled to freely give to the work of His kingdom because we don't understand His character and His love for us. His love is all encompassing and His desire is for us to be like Him.Each chapter of the book stands alone, which is ideal for those who like to jump around within a book. Most of them start with a vignette that hopefully will express feelings and queries you may have regarding giving. There is much more understanding of faith within the pages of the book than simply how to give money to a cause. It truly is about the Father's heart for His children and their extension of His kingdom here on earth.
Jesus, speaking of Himself, said in John 14:11: "Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves." Jesus did not come with words only. He preached repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand and then demonstrated it. His works were the validation of His words. The book of Mark focuses on Jesus as a man of action. The phrase "at once" or the word "immediately" is used more than thirty times in this book to describe events. It is a book with the stress on action and facts rather than themes or topics. Both Matthew and Luke use far more verses to describe the same events as Mark. For example Luke uses 23 verses to describe John the Baptist's ministry to Mark's 10. If you are an action person, one who wants to do rather than talk, this is the book for you. Jesus puts wings to His words!Let the Wonder Worker described in Mark captivate your heart and empower you for great works as He promised.
Under His Wings is a devotional that powerfully extrapolates each verse into the fullness of meaning using references to other portions of scripture to illustrate all that it is meant to be. You can read a verse a day and ponder on all its goodness towards us the rest of the day. Equally you might want to read it all at once and then go back through it at your leisure. Either way the word of God is equivalent to a two-edged sword cutting a swathe through the enemy's lies and deception. The word is alive and active and as effective today as when it was first written. The word is discerning between the thoughts and intents of our heart bringing them out of hiding, exposing them to our understanding and allowing us to know who we truly are.
We have sanitized and fantasized what was really a time fraught with danger and shame, but amazingly great courage. This history shows how much God seems to enjoy changing the world through small beginnings. He starts with an insignificant person, infuses them with His love, His spirit, and they leave a mark that indelibly stamps the history of mankind forever. Look at the men of God and their meager beginnings. Abraham was one of three sons, not even the first born, with a barren wife. God made him into a Father of many. David was the youngest of his family, not even fit by his father's estimation to be brought before the prophet, Samuel. Joseph, a carpenter, became the legal guardian of Jesus, the Son of God. Jesus, born in a stable, a simple carpenter from Nazareth, a town of no reputation, brought us the greatest gift the world will ever experience. As we ponder the goodness of God to mankind this Christmas ask yourself the question 'what about me?' What could He do with me? What would He ask of me? Would it be anything more than 'be obedient' to the call He has placed on your life? Come follow me.
