  • - Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano on the Church, America, and the World
    af Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano
    280,95 - 448,95 kr.

"To restore the beauty of holiness to the face of the Bride of Christ, which is terribly disfigured by so many abominable crimes, and if we truly want to free the Church from the fetid swamp into which she has fallen, we must have the courage to tear down the culture of secrecy and publicly confess the truths we have kept hidden." These bold words from the pen of an archbishop in exile-part of a bombshell exposé published in August 2018 concerning Theodore McCarrick and his circle-catapulted the ecclesiastical diplomat Carlo Maria Viganò to international prominence. In a steady stream of interventions from that time onward, Archbishop Viganò has not only supplied further incriminating details on the current Vatican regime but has extended his critique to the neo-modernism and worldly accommodation that officially entered the Church through the Second Vatican Council. He argues, moreover, that just as there is a "deep state" of wealthy and powerful international elites who exercise enormous sway over political affairs and cultural vectors, so too there is a "deep church" that retains for its advantage the external trappings of religion while pursuing an agenda of error and moral corruption. These pseudo-sovereignties closely collaborate as they work for the same goals, which are, at this point, an open secret. A Voice in the Wilderness collects for the first time all the major writings of Archbishop Viganò from August 2018 to January 2021, with explanatory introductions and notes by Brian M. McCall. Finally available in one place to allow for easy access, assimilation, and debate, it is the definitive edition of an extraordinary body of pronouncements that have stirred up vehement controversy on all sides. Regardless where one stands in its regard, Viganò's arresting message cannot be ignored. Ultimately, it is one of conversion to Christ the King, the Truth in person, who sets us free from the accumulating slaveries of our time.

  • - The Hidden Laws of World History (Revised)
    af Robert Bolton
    398,95 kr.

In The Order of the Ages, Robert Bolton explains the principles that relate the modern world to earlier ages, and the position of our own era in a universal time-cycle, revealing the essential nature of time. He shows that time imposes patterns of its own on the order of events, which reveal themselves by numerical regularities. By means of a Platonic view of creation--which connects temporal with non-temporal realities--we come to see how man's inner life holds the balance between these two kinds of objective reality. Connections are made between metaphysical ideas of time and the scientific idea of entropy, along with its varied applications. The last two thousand years are analyzed numerically in terms of traditional cosmology, making possible the calculation of our present position in a universal era, together with the time within which this era will come to an end. Finally, there is a review of the possibility that this ending may coincide with what Christian tradition calls the Last Times, and what the implications of this would be for current values and religious beliefs. "Christian Platonism has a long and distinguished history, but few orthodox Catholics have tried to make a serious contribution to this tradition in recent times. Robert Bolton's extraordinary book is just such an achievement. Influenced by René Guénon's The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times, and respectful of Tradition, this is a work of great creativity as well as metaphysical intelligence."--STRATFORD CALDECOTT, author of The Radiance of Being "Time, like beauty, is one of the foremost mysteries of human experience. Here Robert Bolton has made a deliberate and courageous effort to confront the nature of time. It is like a breath of fresh air to see such care taken to present what can authentically be called the traditional view. 'Recurrence' and 'Never Again' are the poles of this mystery, so well and ably covered in this book. Essential reading for the serious seeker."--KEITH CRITCHLOW, author of The Hidden Geometry of Flowers "How, when, and why did the world begin? And how will it end? Or is there no ending or beginning? What part does mind play in creation? Are we and the universe programed toward a certain end? All that can honestly be given in response to such questions is an introduction to that constant and recurrent world-view which this book uniquely provides."--JOHN MICHELL, author of The Dimensions of Paradise

Generations of devout Catholics, including many learned theologians and writers, have derived great spiritual benefits from a careful reading of the private revelations here compiled, those of Ven. Anne Catherine Emmerich and Ven. Mary of Agreda, primarily, along with those of St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Elizabeth of Schoenau. From the birth of Mary to her Coronation in Heaven, this book provides the reader with remarkable insights into the life of Our Lady, and an unmatched depth of understanding of the Holy Family. What is also shown with utmost clarity is that Mary is a model of the interior life, and an example of perfect submission to the will of God. "As we read," writes Dom Prosper Gueranger, "our heart slowly takes fire, our soul feels desires for virtue which it had not hitherto experienced, the mysteries of faith appear more luminous to us, bit by bit the world and its hopes vanish, and the longing for the good things of Heaven, which seemed to have been dozing within us, awakens with new fervor."

  • - Liturgy, Education, and Inspiration for Family, School, and College
    af David Clayton
    398,95 kr.

In The Way of Beauty, David Clayton describes how a true Catholic education is both a program of liturgical catechesis and an inculturation that aims for the supernatural transformation of the person so that he can in turn transfigure the whole culture through the divine beauty of his daily action. There is no human activity, no matter how mundane, that cannot be enhanced by this formation in beauty. Such enhanced activity then resonates in harmony with the common good and, through its beauty, draws all people to the Church--and ultimately to the worship of God in the Sacred Liturgy. The Way of Beauty will be of profound interest not only to artists, architects, and composers, but also to educators, who can apply its principles in home and classroom for the formation and education of children and students of all ages and at all levels--family, homeschooling, high school, college, and university. "Since the good, the true, and the beautiful are a manifestation of the Trinity, it is always a grievous fault to leave beauty out of any discussion of the relationship between faith and reason. This being so, I am thrilled at the way David Clayton illustrates how beauty stands in eternal communion with the good and the true."--JOSEPH PEARCE, Aquinas College "In spite of the great proclamation that the sacred liturgy is the font and apex of all we are about as Catholics, fifty years after the Council we still seem far from seeing and living this truth in all its fullness. Drawing upon years of experience as artist and teacher, David Clayton thoroughly unpacks this truth and shows, with an impressive range of examples, how it can and should play out every day in our schools, academic curricula, cultural endeavors, and practice of the fine arts. His treatment of the ways in which architecture, liturgy, and music reflect the mathematical ordering of the cosmos and the hierarchy of created being is illuminating and exciting. The Way of Beauty is a manifesto for the re-integration of the truth laid hold of in intellectual disciplines, the beauty aspired to in art and worship, and the good embodied in morals and manners. Ambitiously integrative yet highly practical, this book ought to be in the hands of every Catholic educator, pastor, and artist."--PETER KWASNIEWSKI, Wyoming Catholic College "In The Way of Beauty, David Clayton offers us a mini-liberal arts education. The book is a counter-offensive against a culture that so often seems to have capitulated to a 'will to ugliness.' He shows us the power in beauty not just where we might expect it--in the visual arts and music--but in domains as diverse as math, theology, morality, physics, astronomy, cosmology, and liturgy. But more than that, his study of beauty makes clear the connection between liturgy, culture, and evangelization, and offers a way to reinvigorate our commitment to the Good, the True, and the Beautiful in the twenty-first century. I am grateful for this book and hope many will take its lessons to heart."--JAY W. RICHARDS, Catholic University of America "Every pope who has promoted the new evangelization has spoken about how essential 'the way of beauty' is in engaging the modern world with the Gospel. What is it about the experience of beauty that can arrest the heart, crack it open, and stir its deepest longings, leading us on a pilgrimage to God? David Clayton's book provides compelling answers."--CHRISTOPHER WEST, Founder and President of The Cor Project DAVID CLAYTON is an internationally acclaimed Catholic artist, teacher, and published writer on sacred art, liturgy, and culture. He was Fellow and Artist in Residence at Thomas More College of Liberal Arts in New Hampshire from 2009 until May 2015 and is the founder of the Way of Beauty program, which has been taught for college credit, featured on television, and is now presented in this book.

  • af Vladimir Solovyov
    253,95 kr.

Vladimir Solovyov (1853-1900) was one of the most remarkable figures of the 19th century. He was the most important Russian speculative thinker of that century, publishing major works on theoretical philosophy, the philosophy of religion, and ethics. He also produced sensitive literary criticism and incisive essays on current political, social, and ecclesiastical questions. He published one important work after another in his twenties, including The Crisis of Western Philosophy: Against the Positivists (1874), The Philosophical Principles of Integral Knowledge (1877), and Lectures on Divine Humanity (1877-1881). By the early 1880s Solovyov had turned to a new project: the reunification of the churches. During his last decade he wrote a highly original book on love, The Meaning of Love (1897), and a treatise on ethics and social philosophy, The Justification of the Good (1892-1894). In the last years of his life, obsessed by a gathering sense of the palpable power of evil in the world, he wrote his final work, Three Conversations Concerning War, Progress, and the End of History, Including a Short Tale of the Antichrist (1900). Solovyov is also regarded as the founder of the Sophiological current in modern Russian philosophy. His Sophiology was further developed by, among others, the philosophers Pavel Florensky (1882-1937), and Sergius Bulgakov (1871-1944). His visions of Sophia were also a source of inspiration for Russian symbolist poets such as Alexander Blok (1880-1921) and Andrei Belyi (1880-1934).The present volume represents the first published overview of Solovyov's writings, and has the unique advantage of having been selected and introduced by S. L. Frank (1877-1950), himself regarded as one of the greatest Russian philosophers of the last century. Solovyov's writings have become better known in recent years, but this first presentation by one of his own gifted countrymen still stands as the best available introduction to Solovyov's uniquely wide range of insight.
