The poem cycle Iniquity tells a tale of unfulfilled love as seen through the eyes of a teenager, taking the reader on a heartfelt journey of hope, trust, desire and dreams which will finally be crushed by the bitter iniquity of life. Written when the author was sixteen years old, Iniquity's haphazard jumble of emotions are embedded in every line of every poem. Taken as a whole, the book represents an authentic record of each emotional stage of a love story. Readers are sure to recognise the feelings these poems evoke, whether they experienced them in the past or continue to battle against them even now.
The meditations set down in this short volume stem from countless recitations by Peter C. Morrison over the course of approximately sixty years. He believes that the Holy Spirit has been abundantly active during the recitations. The Spirit has also never failed to guide and inspire him as soon as he sits down to print the reflections contained in this book. Meditations on the Holy Rosary draws from his life experiences, his knowledge of the Bible, and from the classes in Theology and homilies from inspired preachers.
Sometimes, the best way to learn something is to do it. This book will take you by the hand and show how to actually make, finish, care for, and use the ancient runes in a way that is more "How to" than most books on the subject. This is specifically meant for the individuals who want to learn the uses of the Elder Futhark, not just the esoteric meanings and history of them. You'll learn about the various ways of making runes, bind-runes, talisman, and charms, as well as the many uses for them, both traditional and modern. Everything from the tools and techniques to the materials and accessories you might employ... all is explained in detail from a runemaster with over 30 years of practical experience.
Cross-culture and/or multiculturalism have become catchwords and phrases in certain studies within academia, but they have mostly become battle grounds for contestation and convergence with contestation of identity, cultural authenticity and/or supremacy and hegemony. Yet, over and above all these skirmishes, convergence tends to win the day as it struggles for a cosmopolitan culture and polity, albeit very difficult to achieve. The present work follows the same line of thought by trying to bring a new perspective into what it calls cultural dialogism inherent in the corpus of texts borrowed from The Alhambra by W. Irving. The texts selected display a dual characteristic: the first is addressed as organic in the sense that the texts reflect some eight hundred years of natural copulation between Muslim culture brought up by Muslim conquerors to the Andalusian Christendom; the second underlines a volition on the part of the author to merge the culture by intruding into the structures of the language and the texts. The present works intends to show that these characteristic hybridities transgress the generic boundaries as well as the cultural one producing a 'brassage' breaking the fixity of the boundaries (cultural and other) causing brisures and sutures. This endows the texts with a certain liminality that makes it difficult to authenticate them as belonging to either culture.

months of wondering what the hell happened, and if it was a dream or not. finally arriving upon an affirming decision, only to second-guess myself again. all those things they say about emotional young women: rape accuser, attention whore. why am i the one at fault? you did this to me? all i did was type it out. but you are the one who wrote me this. and you know what? let the blood boil. it was never ego going to my head. it was blood rushing to my head. just like it happened then. and all the nerves permanently stained by emotional memory; the ones that are supposed to be sacred to a woman. the ones that were mine, but you made yours. a tragic haunting: they speak to me in the night. and after years of waiting, wondering what can i do? they whispered to me, closely in my ear: write the book.
Psychedelics: A Full Story comprises an extensively researched discussion of the major psychedelics: LSD, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), mescaline (peyote), DMT (ayahuasca), MDMA (ecstasy), ibogaine, and ketamine, and examines their historical and unique aspects as well as the most recent research. The colorful and controversial history of LSD is discussed from widespread and successful clinical use, little-know CIA projects, and serious personal exploration, to well-known controversial figures such as Timothy Leary. Reasons are examined for its sudden downfall from a position of esteem to one of fear and antipathy in the mind of the public. This discussion ranges from the history of these psychedelics to their potentials for healing and spiritual development, from their use among indigenous cultures to current researchers, from psychedelic drug explorations to questions about mind and consciousness. It includes in-depth discussion of the potential of psychedelics to address several challenges facing us today including mental health disorders and addictions, the shrinking of our understanding of mind to the physical and chemical processes in the brain, and our difficulties dealing with death and dying. New and profound insights about the human mind emerging from psychedelic experience and research are discussed as well as exploration of transpersonal and spiritual experiences involving the nature, range, and depth of consciousness, the reality of spirit, and the nature of reality. The story of psychedelics examines what recently has become an exciting new chapter. While their use was made illegal in the late 1960s and research ground to a halt, in the last few years there has been an explosion of psychedelic research primarily focused on the possibilities it holds for the treatment of mental illness and addiction.

This book outlines the basic structures that make up the human mind and provides guidance on how a person can achieve greater freedom in managing their perception of reality, regulating their emotions, and making choices. It emphasizes that reality, in many ways, is a personal construct rather than something imposed from without. The book considers personal, social, and societal influences, offering an opportunity to examine their effects. It covers topics related to self-acceptance, needs, beliefs, values, emotions, temporal orientation, and dreams. Exercises are suggested to help the reader better comprehend how each topic relates to them personally and how to take steps toward making changes. The book has a spiritual orientation only insofar as it assumes the existence of a higher power and the continuity of consciousness through life and death. It is non-denominational and does not promote any particular religious beliefs.

In his ground-breaking work The Confessions, Augustine of Hippo (AD 343-430), a prominent theologian and philosopher of early Christianity, paved the way for self-disclosure and the art of writing one's life story. In On a Pilgrimage with Augustine's Confessions, Dr. Blom delves into Augustine's role as both protagonist and reflective narrator, portraying him as Christianity's original existential hero.Blom draws parallels between Augustine's journey and that of the wanton prodigal son, viewing Augustine's address to God as the voice of an 'everyday man' struggling to find his way home - a spiritual homecoming. By masterfully weaving together Jungian archetypal psychology, mythology, biblical interpretations, and autobiography, Blom invites the reader to embark on a captivating journey that bridges the gap between Augustine's musings and meditations from the fifth century and the present day.On a Pilgrimage with Augustine's Confessions offers a fresh perspective on a timeless classic, making it an essential read for anyone seeking to explore the depths of the human soul and the enduring relevance of Augustine's wisdom.

Permit me, if you will, to invite you to the land of plenty! Plenty of this, plenty of that. Plenty of 'going to the mat' for the cause célèbre du jour, or for something less. Plenty of 'bullshit!' Plenty of pet peeves and more. And plenty of moments where you'll wonder, 'Now, did that just happen?'Ain't This a Bitch? by J Sam takes you on a journey through the highs, lows, and in-betweens of navigating the all-too-common 'isms' that constantly challenge us. Let J Sam guide you, journey by journey, irony by irony, and smackdown by smackdown, through the 'poetic justice' of living in, and loving, America. This is the 'land of the free' where bravery about 'difference' meets its adversary: a beast, two-legged and ferocious, pandering to the irrelevant histories of less benevolent men.Come one, come all, into this thrall, where complexity resides in the truths about the 'socio-politics' leading you to these pages. Pages that never fail to deliver, 'on point!' Pages that reject the notion of wallowing in the mud of 'pretense,' and instead, celebrate the beauty of the word in its magnificent expression! This poet offers you contemporary and timeless literary excellence, not easily perceived by the eye (naked in its rush to judgment) nor the ear (given over to 'the squeaky wheel') in a nation under siege by the greasy freedoms of verse.
Randall Thompson was raised in a turbulent parental environment, which led him to drinking and drugs as a teenager. He left home after his mother died, leaving his pathetic father behind, and made his home on the streets. This led to an acceleration of drug use, which eventually caused severe depression and an attempted suicide in the tunnels under New York City. To his great surprise, he woke up the next morning, cursed the drugs for failing, and then began to explore his new surroundings, having nothing better to do. Over time, the tunnels below the city became his home. He met and inducted other addicts into the tunnels, became their leader, and spent the next several years in various adventures, experiencing love, success, and failure. The people on top, as he would label it, called him The Mole Man. This is his story.
