  • - An Essay
    af Dawn D Boyer
    74,95 kr.

Dr. Boyer encounters a lot of conspiracy theories on social media and in ordinary conversations with peers and simply can't believe so many people are gullible to instantly believe these crazy ideas. Being a logical person she is, she often asks realistic questions about the events and those who are conspiracy theory enthusiasts. Mostly she has more faith in her fellow human being and Americans to believe many (or any) of the conspiracy theories that are floating around. This short essay essentially asks those who hear the theories to stop, think, and logically work though not only the main-stream-media chatter, but also if they really want the answers to dig deeper into the truth that is documented by those who were there, scientists who do the research, and the authorities who search through the facts and sometimes the rubble to find the real truth about what happened. No one can keep a secret if more than one person knows about events. Look at the laws, law enforcement documentation, research the scientific data, and understand other folks are human (and make mistakes, as well as have ethics in their own lifestyles), before crying wolf in public.

This book is targeted towards building and construction planning and project managers who are professional practitioners developing cost estimating databases or with strategic goals towards integrating Building Information Model (BIM) with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. This book outlines, details, and explains how an excessive number of changes in the planning - including change orders, legal claims (contracts-related), and scheduling overruns can be avoided by adapting and using the 3-D Building Information Model. This book analyzes and explains the process of making the switch from single-dimensional (1-D or 2-D) flat-file Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to multi-dimensional WBS and CBS that are suitable for relational and object-oriented databases. This book provides a paradigm shift in thinking for intermediate- and advanced-level planning and project managers to accelerate small to large building and construction projects. The purpose of this book is to introduce a 'better way of planning' to pull organizations out of the cost-burdensome single-dimensional WBS/CBS planning stages of construction planning into a more cost-efficient practice of cost estimating using databases or integration of BIM with ERP. This solution is ideal for BIM developers, BIM consultants, and as an introductory textbook solution for students and course curriculum developers targeting Construction Database Creation and Management on a graduate level. building and construction planning/applicationsBuilding Information Model (BIM) value engineeringEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems3-D, 4-D, 5-D, 6-D Building Information Modeling BIM developers, BIM consultantsProject Breakdown Structures (PBS)scheduling, estimating sustainability, facility

This is a 'must-buy book' for mental-health workers, licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors, and licensed marriage and family therapists, as well as first responders and their supervising managers, and/or the organizations for who these helpers work. This research study focuses on keeping the helping work-force professionals mentally and emotionally stable after encountering second-hand trauma from their clients or patients. This research identifies Secondary Traumatic Stress - or Vicarious Trauma - and illustrates real-life examples and recommends self-care options.First responders, social workers, and mental-health professionals encounter experiences directly or indirectly through helping others in emergencies following trauma care, and/or mental health care treatments. While these workers help others, they may also experience vicarious trauma or they may 're-experience' past traumas of their own re-lived via their patients or clients. Mental health professionals Vicarious Trauma experiences may directly and adversely affect services provided to their own patients and clients. This qualitative research study provides insight into the minds of social workers who treat patients with trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or other high-stress emotional, physical, abuse, traumatic, and/or mental conditions. Social workers may be affected vicariously via VT/STS - through daily services to patients or clients as mental health professionals. Readers of this book can feel and understand the vicarious trauma stories from lived experiences of social workers and helpers who work with these patients and may vicariously experience or re-experience trauma from their own lives. This research acknowledges the presence of VT/STS. The researcher also identifies care of symptoms presented by mental-health workers, licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors, and licensed marriage and family therapists who are exposed to and may suffer VT/STS from their clients. This study documents how some social workers treat their own mental, emotional, and physical VT symptoms with 'self-care, ' as well as how their supervisors can acknowledge and provide support directly to the mental health professionals to reduce or alleviate VT/STS. The participants in the study provided insight on how they provided or created their own 'self-care' treatments. The researcher also provided recommendations for organizations to be aware of VT/STS in their mental health workers and what steps organizations can take to reduce or make available options to their workers to reduce both emotional and physical VT/STS symptoms.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations can be costly for any company. While there are advantages to size and funding in larger businesses (500+ employees), there are critical success factors of the ERP process that small- to mid-size manufacturing (or other types of business organizations) can use to increase their rate of success for ERP. This must-buy book outlines research that targeted specific factors that increase any ERP implementation's success. Critical success factors were identified, and ranked, by 50+ subject matter expert consultants in the ERP field in this study. These SMEs, all with more than five years of experience in implementing ERPs for manufacturers, provided a consensus for best-practices factors vital for consideration for the ERP implementation, before, during, and after the exercise. Critical factors (failure and success) are highlighted for the planning, process, and follow-up, with positive internal and external results from the executive (top-down) buy-in to the communications and transparency of the process to middle management and line employee stakeholders. The vital points in the conclusion offer guidance to organizations, as well as ERP consultants, that are considering ERP implementation, even if the entity is not in the manufacturing industry. If you or your company is seriously considering an ERP project, this book is a required reading for industry intelligence and analytic insight. Proceeds from this book will benefit The Sydney Goldston Scholarship Foundation to make the dreams for future leaders a reality.
