Bitterness is a deeply destructive emotion. It can develop in our spirits like infection in a physical wound. It can make us ineffective and useless for God's service and could undermine the work of our church and its standing in our community. A bitter reaction will always undermine the integrity of the Gospel because the Gospel is a message that conquers bitterness. The Lord Jesus took all our bitterness on the cross where the ultimate price for sin was paid by Him. So in Christ we can find release from the oppressive bondage that bitterness produces. May God grant us the grace to always leave bitterness at the feet of the Saviour so that we can live life unburdened by the weight of a bitter spirit which ultimately will cause the most damage to ourselves.
How could a book that was written over 3400 years ago contain accurate descriptions of future world events? We hear so much in the news these days about wars and conflicts. Did you know that the Bible predicts such events? We live in one of the most exciting times of world history because we are approaching the next most significant event in Biblical prophecy-the rapture of the church. This event, foretold in the Bible, will trigger a series of world events that will drastically affect the way people live on this planet. In a time when people are spending more and more resources consulting psychic readers, horoscopes, and all sorts of astrology, Do You Know the Future? gives a panoramic look at God's plan for your future, your purpose, and your destiny as outlined in the Bible. This book discusses, in detail, future events like the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Millennial Kingdom, and the Eternal State. When you begin to understand God's plan for your future, it will affect the way you live your life right now. It will also help you see that preparation for the future requires surrendering your life to the Lord Jesus Christ-because the future revolves around Him!
We should take time to revel in all God's creation. Everything He made is marvelous beyond description. Everyone owes it to himself or herself to be awestruck by the dimensions of the universe, the number of stars, and the precision with which they move. No one should miss the mind-boggling world of potential in the living cell. What a tragedy it would be to go through life hugging the commonplace and missing the beautiful, majoring in the mundane and missing the majestic. So let's stop and smell the roses and also admire God's works in the universe. In this thrilling book, a companion volume to his popular The Wonders of God, the author takes us on a journey-through creation, providence, and redemption-proving again that Our God Is Wonderful. The more we spend time with Him, the more we know Him. The more we know Him, the more we will become like Him.
There are really only two beliefs in the world. There are those who believe they can save themselves and those who believe they need a Saviour. Only Christianity offers a Saviour. And only the Christian gospel guarantees every believer a place in the Father's house. Because "e;salvation is of the Lord"e; - plus nothing! In spite of this, many Christians are plagued with doubts on this very subject. When your certainty of eternal salvation goes, your joy also goes. When your joy goes, so does your spiritual strength, because "e;the joy of the Lord is your strength."e; The author takes us right to the problem and carefully shows us from God's Word the antidote to spiritual uncertainty. Readable and right on target.
