INTRODUCTIONThe scenes generated by modeling and animation using multimedia techniques contain curves and surfaces which can be easily defined in parametric form with the help of well-defined mathematical functions. Therefore such types of scenes are generally stored and transmitted in the form of vector data instead of raster data, as vector data requires less storage space and can be easily interpreted by machines. On the other hand, natural scenes contain curves and surfaces which cannot be easily defined in the parametric form. So representing such scenes in the form of vector data is a big challenge. Storing and transmitting these scenes as raster data not only requires more space but is also difficult to interpret by machines.
