On A Journey of Love: "What's Love Got to Do with It?" Everything! "Love is an open door"...that just keeps opening more. Both of those lines are from songs that talk about the heartbreak and opening that comes from loving. The 16 women in this book have opened their hearts to write about a journey of love. The love of a parent, a child, a partner, God and a journey that in the writing has led all of them to more self-love and compassion for themselves and others. They have written about heartache and joy and a myriad of emotions that they discovered on this journey of love. From the Foreword by Beth Terrence: "We are living at a time on our planet when the energy of love is what is truly needed to create transformation and healing on all levels. It is clear that the systems of mind and logic have taken humanity as far as it can go in terms of living in harmony and that another force is needed if we are to achieve balance individually and collectively. The force needed is LOVE!" From the Introduction by Liz Draman: "Our world is demanding love to awaken. Not the kind of love that makes sense to our logical mind, rather a new stage in human evolution "heart thinking". The kind of love that heals, brings resolution, and creates, it is the kind of love that hate surrenders to and restores peace and harmony in our world. How can we experience this kind of love? The stories in this book are your sacred guides; each voice uniquely expressing a transparency, courage, and vulnerability with the raw honesty that will liberate the healing Power of Love in you. " Included in the back of the book is a list of resources for Love in Action: books, songs, blogtalk radio show links.
Twenty-three stories by women. Written in a community over 9 months. One vulnerable word at a time, the successful authors in this book reclaimed hidden aspects of their own personal power: writing to heal a story in their lives. These twenty-three women initially met through a coaching program including both men and women, and thus were accustomed to "listening" to one another, practicing the artful trade of supporting and empowering others. In many of the stories, women wrote about the ways they had been diminished in religion, families, relationships, school, work and the world and they learned through writing and self-discovery: *An empowered voice listens. *An empowered voice speaks the truth. *An empowered voice will not be silenced. They share their stories as the next step in leadership so that you may see your situation and your life in a new light; helping you to reclaim your own personal power, to move past obstacles and find the strength to step into your greatness.
