Polarization and discrimination linked to religion have been increasing in many parts of the world, including on the two shores of the Mediterranean. Against this background, however, seeds of hope have emerged from a number of religious leaders who have called for a new narrative of human fraternity and inclusive citizenship. This report analyzes the opportunities which human fraternity and inclusive citizenship offer for government-religious partnerships aimed at building more inclusive and peaceful societies across both shores of the Mediterranean and puts forward interreligious engagement as a new policy framework that recognizes and amplifies these novel dynamics. The Covid-19 pandemic could not have come at a worse time, as many countries in the MENA region remain engulfed in vicious internal conflicts or must cope with structural socio-economic distress and popular dissent. In many respects, such a context and many of its problems resemble those that formed the backdrop for the Arab Spring in 2011. Exactly like what happens with humans, who are hit the hardest when presenting pre-existing conditions, MENA states have been impacted because of their own pre-existing conditions. In this sense, the Covid-19 pandemic has laid bare all the vulnerabilities and deficiencies of these states' structures, and has aggravated pre-existing political, social, and economic shortcomings. Global geopolitical relations are being shaken to their roots, and no region in the world is more entangled in this than Latin America. Political leadership can be a crucial ingredient for the development of sub-Saharan Africa. The region has been going through important transformations, with both political landscapes and economic trajectories becoming increasingly diverse. "Les provençalistes sont gens heureux" scriveva Charles Samaran, fornendo, nella prima annata da lui diretta della "Bibliothèque de l'École des Chartes" (96, 1935), una breve notizia della Bibliographie des manuscrits littéraires en ancien provençal di Clovis Brunel, ancora fresca di stampa. E spiegava le ragioni di questa fortuna: "Leur domaine est vaste, mais non démesuré. Ils peuvent, sans tomber dans le découragement, en dénombrer les richesses; ils peu-vent aussi revenir de temps en temps sur les répertoires existants pour les améliorer encore".
