Boy in Blue Raincoat is a short and simple story about a boy whose family roots can be traced back to the convict era. Growing up in Eastern Victoria, Australia, in a remote timber mill town in the nineteen sixties, the boy finds solace and joy in the natural environment away from the town. He is a loner, has few friends at school and despised a little by a minority of his teachers due to his father's prison record. Despite this, he has both a great appreciation and love for his dad. The boy finds unexpected true friendship with a Japanese soldier still in hiding from a distant war. Both the boy and the soldier must adjust to the intrusion of a new family into their favourite bush retreat. Also, the boy finds love from the daughter of a wealthy grazier; but just as things are looking up, his whole world is upturned by the unfolding of a train of events beyond his control.

The title 'In Ya Face' came about from a close friend who, on viewing some of Tom's twitter posts, thought they were a little aggressive and bordering on the offensive! This then is the resulting collection of a proportion of Tom Law's posts for 2017. It was a rocky year with a kaleidoscope of political shenanigans going on around the world some of which are captured here. Hopefully of entertainment value!

The title of 'Helter Skelter', Tom Law's latest book, almost speaks for itself. Basically, due to human folly, the writing leads us to the world's end with perhaps the survival of just a few reverting to a pre high tech existence. The storyline is interwoven with political outpourings, observations and graffiti ramblings. Sequence is a problem as factual narrative merges into drama, futuristic fantasy and prediction. So be warned: the flow is deceptive as the text is driven into cataracts, over waterfalls and through chasms lined with sharp rocks and oblique boulders. The writing is at times confused, abstract and didactic.. in other words, unconventional! Never the less, apart from being confronting it is a worthwhile read hopefully with lessons to be learned. Although the tome displays bucket loads of negativity and evil, the coda is a final escape route to the possibility of an alternative and possibly something better. Touches upon all the current problems and dilemmas facing humanity.

Guns and gun ownership is once again in focus with the recent advent of more massacres and police killings. Tom looks hard at the causes and suggests some remedies based on the Australian model. The second amendment is an extremely hard nut to crack and many will adhere to it forever. But Tom suggests that there must eventually be a letting go of an 18th century value if lives are to be saved in the 21st century and beyond. The facts are laid bare... it is now up to our politicians and law makers to free us all of this madness! Highly controversial but never the less a good read!

The internet is awash with scammers and deceivers wanting you to dig deep and send them money for a reward... generally nothing! Tom Law examines several ways of identifying scammers and their stock in trade often received as unwanted emails. Some are obvious to most but others almost seem genuine accompanied with fake documents etc. to draw you in. The internet brides look alluring and often pretty... but what you get is often not what you see! A sometimes humorous exposure to the con artist with deadly intent, Tom Law provides sufficient warning to the cruel reality of the sophisticated take and artistry.

Experts are fearful of a mean temperature rise of just 2 degrees.. what happens if it rises by as much as 7.5 degrees? The book includes some basic chemistry of the industries that produce the most carbon dioxide.

This is the Black and White Edition of Tom Law's 'Return to Animalia'. It might be described as 'extreme' in terms of its analysis of current social and political attitudes in Australia. However it should also appeal to a wider audience in that it touches upon many contemporary world problems that trouble our daily lives. The author naturally recommends the full colour version for full impact, however for those that merely wish to get to the kernel, this edition will suffice.
