The creation of this book has been a culmination of a life-long dream to go out and positively impact people's lives through empowering them to live their lives on purpose. When it comes to living a purpose driven life, faith plays a big part in it. Ever since I was young, I had a strong sense of faith that I was connected to something much larger than myself. As a teenager, I was given the vision of an entrepreneurial movement, or business community, created to empower people with the resources needed to design a great business and life while becoming the person God designed them to be. Over the years, it has been a long journey as I continue to develop and bring my dream of such an entrepreneurial community into reality. My life has been an amazing adventure of different experiences, challenges, and eye-opening lessons that together shaped the man I have become. There were many times when I felt completely alone, yet through it all I felt very lucky because when times felt the hardest, it often felt like there was someone by my side; like a silent mentor guiding me when I needed it most.As I compiled all the different stories and lessons, I decided to share them with you as a fictional story about a man named Sam who ended up sitting next to an older much wiser man named Pistis (which means faith in Greek) on a flight from Milwaukee to Seattle. Throughout the conversation, Pistis asks Sam questions, and Sam shares different stories while answering his questions. Pistis share many teaching points, leading up to a powerful revelation at the end of the book. It's my goal that as you read this book, the many adventures and stories of how 'by the grace of God', I was able to make split second choices that radically changed the course of my life. But most of all, I hope that these different stories and examples will show you that by staying true to your own faith, even when it feels like you're alone and nothing is working for you, you're never truly alone. It's so important to persevere and not give up. We are all here for a purpose or reason, and it's up to us to discover what that purpose is. God's true glory can shine through each of us if we only let Him. Most of all, throughout this book, by using my own journey, I hope to show you how even the smallest choice or decision put in front of us can have a huge impact over not only our lives, but the lives of those around us. I also hope to show you the potential dangers of ignoring the warning signs or clues that are put in front of us. The conversation between Pistis and Sam lays out the process like a road map, not only for me, but also for you to use in your own life story. Don't miss the directional arrows put in front of you each and every day. When I find myself second-guessing my belief or asking, 'who am to have such a dream?', the words of Eleanor Roosevelt come to mind. 'He who loses money loses much, He who loses a friend loses much more, He who loses faith loses all.' I encourage you to read this book, and keep striving to live you own life on purpose and trust that God is walking beside you through celebration, at times pain, yet in the end the shaping of amazing person you were designed to become. As my daughter once told me, "Dad, I believe we are all born with a superpower, and it's up to us to discover it, then share it with the world."
