Sono molte le anime che compongono il lavoro di Carlo Caloro (Roma, classe 1962), e che attraversano un lungo percorso di ricerca. Due di queste, in particolare, emergono immediatamente dalla lettura del consistente corpus di opere che l¿artista ha realizzato a partire dal 2005: un gusto spregiudicato per la pratica performativa finalizzata a destrutturare i meccanismi alla base di un sistema dell¿arte che l¿artista stesso definisce ¿obsoletö e uno sguardo analitico volto alla comprensione dei processi scientifici e tecnologici alla base dell¿idea stessa di vita."

Condividere una collezione privata è un gesto di generosità. In fin dei conti i musei nascono proprio da questo impulso privato di condivisione pubblica. Ma questo è un altro discorso. Partiamo dunque da questo libro della collezione Elio D¿Archivio che rappresenta il primo passo dell¿esigenza di mettere in relazione le opere raccolte nell¿arco di vent¿anni con la dimensione dello sguardo pubblico.

Coltro, a cui questa monografia è dedicata, è il padre del System, un sistema digitale che modifica l¿opera all¿infinito in un flusso visivo continuo. Cambia così la natura della ¿telä, che diventa mobile e imprevedibile, come la vita. Ma cambia anche il rapporto fra l¿opera e l¿autore, che può intervenire su quella tela viva e reinventarla anche dopo il suo approdo in un museo o nella casa di un collezionista (entro però i limiti di un contratto fissato in anticipo tra le parti).

[...] In principio era il titolo e il titolo era doppio: Folklore Sexuel Belge e Mer du Nord Sexuelle Belge, ma l¿artista Jan Fabre per Milano ha voluto unificarlo in un solo titolo: La Saggezza del Belgio. Entriamo partendo non dalle immagini ma dal verbo perché, se il Fabre artista visivo è un creatore di immagini, (disegni), e forme (sculture), vi è anche un Fabre scrittore molto attento al significato e all¿uso delle parole, tanto da aver scelto per il titolo di un¿opera eminentemente belga la parola Saggezza in italiano. Chiacchierando Fabre dice che il termine saggezza nell¿idioma italiano ha suono e densità di significato tutto particolare, perché derivando dal latino sapientia, significato che, ad esempio, il termine inglese wisdom non ha. artQ13 è uno spazio indipendente, fondato a Roma nel 2014 da Carlo Caloro e Britta Lenk, che produce e sostiene attività di ricerca, sperimentazione e realizzazione di progetti espositivi ed editoriali.Synchronicities è il risultato di uno di questi esperimenti. Il catalogo, raccoglie le testimonianze di compositori italiani e internazionali offrendo uno sguardo parziale sulle attuali interazioni tra tecnologia, tecniche di composizione musicale e il ruolo dell¿ascoltatore.

L¿arte fotografica conserva l¿anima delle persone ritratte, come è stata capace di fare Elisabetta Catalano. Con lei la fotografia sostituisce le parole ed evoca ricordi. La sua capacità di fermare il momento attraverso lo scatto ci ha restituito un Fellini vero e umano. Abbiamo così deciso di dedicare una mostra, nel centenario dalla nascita del grande maestro, ad entrambi, perché sia Elisabetta che Federico, con il loro intendersi, hanno costruito un dialogo denso e originale che meritava di essere mostrato al grande pubblico nello spazio del Teatro 1 di Cinecittà, habitat naturale dei cinematografi. Abbiamo deciso di inaugurare durante la pandemia, dovuta al Covid, per dare un segnale forte al mondo della cultura e le aspettative, per questa esposizione che ha narrato un periodo storico memorabile, non sono state tradite.

- Published in collaboration with the Fondazione Giorgio e Isa de Chirico- Newly discovered documentation that definitively identifies the mystery woman known as "Alcestis", who de Chirico painted in 1918- Includes previously unpublished archival material, including letters, postcards, and photographsIn 1918 de Chirico painted a portrait of a woman who up till now has only been identified as "Alcestis". The painting was part of an exhibition of his work at the Bragaglia Gallery in February 1919, where it was sold. With the recent discovery of over 100 love letters written by de Chirico in 1919 to a woman from Ferrara named Antonia Bolognesi, the identity of "Alcestis" has been confirmed. This material sheds light on the artist's stay in Ferrara from 1915 to 1918, where he was stationed as a soldier during WWI, and his life in the immediate post-war years. Included here is a full transcription of 125 previously unpublished documents consisting of 104 letters and postcards by Giorgio de Chirico to Antonia Bolognesi; numerous historical photographs and reproductions of the original manuscripts.
