Grandad's Journey: A Holocaust Mystery de Bernard S. Wilson a donné suite à une adaptation française L'Énigme de la photo jaunie. Cette histoire suit la quête d'une lycéenne irlandaise, Emma, qui découvre le passé de sa famille. Ses recherches l'amènent au Musée de la Shoah à Paris, puis dans les camps de concentration français de Rivesaltes et d'Argelès-sur-mer. Elle finit par découvrir que son grand-père, qui avait été adopté et ne connaissait pas ses parents biologiques, était un survivant de la Shoah dont les parents avaient été déportés d'Allemagne et envoyés à Auschwitz où ils ont péri. Bernard S. Wilson m'a généreusement permis de librement traduire son texte en français dans un but éducatif. Dans un style simple et fluide, L'Énigme permet au lecteur de se familiariser avec une multitude de faits sur la Shoah, le gouvernement de Vichy et la guerre civile espagnole.

Grandad's Journey: A Holocaust Mystery by Bernard S. Wilson follows the quest of an Irish high-school girl, Emma, as she unravels her family's past. Her search takes her to the Musée de la Shoah in Paris all the way down south to the French concentration camps of Rivesaltes and Argelès-sur-mer. She ends up finding out that her grandfather, who was adopted and had no knowledge of his birth-parents, was a Holocaust survivor whose parents had been deported from Germany and were later sent to Auschwitz where they perished.
