Patricia Pulley was lucky enough to find and marry the man of her dreams. Together, they had children; they built a life. Then, with no warning, her husband died and left her widowed. In an instant, everything changed; Pat's children watched as she struggled to replace the only man she had known. She needed someone to love, protect, and care for her-just like the man she had lost much too soon. LOVE, LONELINESS, ABUSE, AND MURDER is a painful memoir written by Patricia's youngest son, Jim. Jim saw the agony caused by his father's death; he also watched as his mother fell into the arms of a monster. Told through firsthand memories, police incident reports, and pages of Patricia's own diary, Pulley's story proves that life can change without warning. Where there was once happiness, only mournful cries now echo in the dark.
It's still the Wild West in Colleen's Durango. Colleen Miller grew up in her parents' motel in Durango, Colorado, during the 1950s and 1960s. A tourist town in the southwestern corner of the state, alive with people from all over the world during the summer, Durango became an isolated, typical small town the rest of the year. These are the stories of her childhood, filled with the hilarious, larger-than-life characters that populated her family and the town around them. Told in the words of a precocious child who doesn't miss a thing, Colleen has the courage to name it all for what it is, telling anyone who will listen. Inside are her stories and more... "I laughed out loud so many times! Colleen is a brilliant storyteller and a compassionate coach with fresh and unique ideas for uncovering those parts of our past we've buried while integrating them into the person we want to be today." Chicken Soup for the Soul series and other books "What I love about Colleen's writing is that the stories come alive and draw me in. They make me cry and laugh, and help me to see the truth of my own authentic self." -Sally Bonkrude, MA, LPC, MT-BC, author of Conscious Performing...from fear to freedom!
As a Democracy, our government ought to reflect the core beliefs of its people. As people of faith, our faith ought to inform every aspect of our lives; from children, to family, to finances, to health, to marriage, and yes...even to politics! It is no far stretch to say that as our faith informs our lives, it should also inform our politics. My God, My Politics will stand as a template for every reader to truly define their personal political ideology. No longer will our personal politics be influenced from the OUTSIDE IN, by party affiliations or outside forces; it will be from the INSIDE OUT through the development of our core belief systems. No longer will we allow what we know as the "Separation of Church & State" to disconnect our faith from our politics. My God, My Politics will set your faith free to speak to your politics! This book will empower you to: + Develop your political ideology based on your faith + Interpret scripture in a manner that will guide your politics + Be an advocate for what you believe in the political arena + Use your faith to influence your policies
Osama bin Laden dead? With no body, no photos, and only alleged genetic samples as proof, half the world believes bin Laden's well-publicized death was a hoax. On May 1, 2011, did Navy Seal Team Six just miss the al Qaeda leader in his Abbottabad compound? Or, warned by Pakistan's ISI, did bin Laden escape into the high Hindu Kush where he continued execute attacks against the U.S. and its allies? Told by Scout Sniper Jack Hull, HIGH VALUE TARGET is the real story of the death of Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda's horrific revenge on the U.S. mainland. "A well-written and engaging novel that provides jarring insights into the complexities of the war in Afghanistan, and into those who are fighting it." -Lt. General U.S. Army (Ret.) Robert Gard, PhD "A great novel on the death of Osama bin Laden, HIGH VALUE TARGET is a page-turner in the tradition of Clancy, W.E.B. Griffin, and Dale Brown. We now have a new hero named Jack Hull to watch out for. HIGH VALUE TARGET shows us, in great detail, how it really happened and what we need to be wary of in the future. I could not put it down--a great read!!" -Lt. Col. U.S. Army (Ret.) Professor of Military History and English John K. Swensson
Discovered to possess a terrible, forbidden power, Korel's destiny is changed forever. Finding himself the victim of a heinous plot to discredit him, 17-year-old Korel is expelled from both his family and his home. Finding himself enslaved, Korel quickly rises up the ranks due to his quiet nobility, stoic sense of virtue, and sharp intelligence. But just when Korel finds himself with a small measure of comfort and stability in his new life, his budding romance with the beautiful Arinnea is dashed to pieces in an explosion of evil. Barely escaping with his life, Korel is once again forced to flee across the plains with only his warrior training, his unbeatable strength, and his memories as his companions. Living in both the present and the past, Korel is condemned to wander throughout the land, encountering creatures dark and dangerous that hold powers strange and terrible. He comes to wonder-no matter how many perils he escapes with his wit, cunning, and almost superhuman might-if he can ever escape his own past. In The Korellian Odyssey: Requiem, author Vance Bachelder introduces an epic tale of one man doomed to wander the earth. Korel's is a story of unrequited love, false prophesies, cunning enemies, a jealousy strong enough to rip a family apart, and the deep, personal shame of a betrayal that can never be atoned for.
The ten essays assembled in this volume represent the fruit of fifty years of research and study in the fields of Jewish history and World history. They show that the Jewish people has played a progressive role in world history, a role which grew out of the political culture of the Habiru. Mentioned in literally hundreds of cuneiform inscriptions dating from the 2nd millenium BCE, the Habiru formed scattered bands of runaway slaves and other fugitives who maintained themselves on the outskirts of the settled areas of the Middle East. Constituting a social class rather than an extended family, they were nonetheless the founders of the ancient Jewish nation whose origins are depicted in a legendary form in the Hebrew Scriptures. It was their egalitarian value system which was handed down to posterity by the Jewish people. In this way there arose a process which has continued unto this day: on the one hand the gradual incorporation of progressive Jewish values into world culture, but on the other hand the relentless persecution of the Jewish people by the forces of tyranny and injustice. In today's world this process takes the form of the struggle to survive of the democratic state of Israel in the face of the united opposition of autocratic forces everywhere. Written at different times over the course of the past 15 years or so, each of the ten essays in this volume addresses a different aspect of this process. Taken together they cast a bright light on the truth of Jewish history and the Jewish people.
Irving Podolsky is a nice Jewish boy looking for a nice Jewish girl and a job out of college which would, Irv hopes, make the world a better place. But when our hero's food supply dwindles down to a slab of Velveeta and a jar of pickles, our lad takes his only job offer: directing pornographic movies. This leads to a night shift gig in a mental hospital, only to have that be replaced by the lowest rung in food service, which drives Irv so bonkers his mind ejects out of his body to the Other Side. Irv's Odyssey is a humorous quest for love, truth and the meaning of life while lost in alternate life styles, a psychedelic drug culture and the free-love of the seventies. Lost in a Looking Glass starts the journey. Irving Podolsky resides in the mind of this writer and within the trilogy, Irv's Odyssey. As your storyteller, I'd like to share the adventure with your younger YOU, that which seeks fun, romance and a wild ride into the Unknown. "My plan was to take Lost in a Looking Glass with me so I could read it on our cruise. But I finished it before we even left. What a page turner!" Gregor Wossilus - film critic, content producer and story analyst for the Bavarian Broadcasting Network
Irv's still employed at the mental hospital, a place where all the people who don't "fit in" get jobs behind locked doors. It's a crazy circus and Irv's life is far from settling down. A free-loading porn stud and con man moves into our lad's apartment, and the jerk won't leave! It gets worse. Irv discovers the place where humanity hides it's most shameful secret. And it's not in the Buckhead Steak 'n Brew where Irv becomes a salad boy/dishwasher. And it's not at the Cloisters Restaurant where Irv get pushed into bussing tables while tripping on acid. And it's not in Europe where he meets three people who change his life in ways he only read about in Sc-Fi novels and mystical books. Actually that "shameful secret" is no secret at all, yet only Irv wants to know it. Will our friend ever find his way back to Normal? Not yet. Irving Podolsky resides in the mind of this writer and within the trilogy, Irv's Odyssey. As your storyteller, I'd like to share the adventure with your younger YOU, that which seeks fun, romance and a wild ride into the Unknown. "It's forceful, funny, and has the ring of truth. I looked forward to getting back to it each night, and that's a great sign that the book is ALIVE." - Daniel Asa Rose - NEA Literary Fellow, Book Reviewer, Travel Columnist and Author of his latest book, the acclaimed memoir Larry's Kidney
Food service and Irving Podolsky are NOT friends. Still, Irv rises to the level of waiter in the Fairmont Hotel. What about his budding film career, making the world a better place and finding a nice Jewish chick? Well, instead, Irv meets an exotic older girl from Germany. Could she be the one, Irv's forever, but not-Jewish-at-all soul mate? Ben suggests she is. Ben is a drawling spirit voice channeled through a Puerto Rican pothead. And Ben knows all about Irv's recent nocturnal fly-outs: those uncontrollable out-of-body trips that bring him to the Other Side where he encounters creepy crawlers in attack mode and goes back and forth in time and into his own future. These bizarre events are not dreams or fantasies. They are real. For as Irv finds out, magic and miracles do exist. And so does true love, if he can just convince his parents, it's okay to marry a shiksa. Irving Podolskyresides in the mind of this writer and within the trilogy, Irv's Odyssey. As your storyteller, I'd like to share the adventure with your younger YOU, that which seeks fun, romance and a wild ride into the Unknown. "I have just finished your third book and I am crying. So moving, so good. I have been living in this story since I started it, and right now, I want to be quiet and just enjoy what I have been given."- Leslie Talbott, Ph.D.-- Educator, Psychologist and Academic Author
Two childhood friends, one black, one white, whose lives intertwined in segregated East Texas return to Longview when Harley Groves, the man credited with making them the successful men they became, is murdered. They knew Groves, who had lost both feet to the Korean War, as a kind, gentle man who just wanted to share his life with the woman he loved and never raised his voice or a hand to anybody.Except for that one terrible, memorable night in Harley's pool hall called "The Chicken Shack."
There is no time like your twenties. The freedom -- and the anxiety. The adventures and the disappointments. The world is at your fingertips... and now what do you do? One twentysomething had a feeling that other successful women could hold some answers. So she set to work, interviewing women from all walks of life, gleaning wisdom from their generation for ours. What she found in her mission were some great perspectives and answers the questions burning in so many young women -- what does it mean to really love yourself? How do I become a success? What does it mean to truly "get it?" With advice like setting goals, taking action, embracing conflict, and loving yourself and those around you, these women blaze a bold trail for future generations of our gender. They have truly discovered who they are, not who they hope to be. Sometimes surprising, sometimes funny, and always empowering, women share their stories with us, answering the questions that we would never know unless we ask.
In Death with Dignity, Robert Orfali makes a compelling case for legalized physician-assisted dying. Using the latest data from Oregon and the Netherlands, he puts a fresh new slant on perennial debate topics such as "slippery slopes," "the integrity of medicine," and "sanctity of life." His engaging writing style brings clarity to these issues. The content is thought-provoking; the arguments are well-researched, air-tight, and original. This extraordinary book provides an in-depth look at how we die in America today. It examines the shortcomings of our end-of-life system. You'll learn about terminal torture in hospital ICUs and about the alternatives: hospice and palliative care. With laser-sharp focus, Orfali scrutinizes the good, the bad, and the ugly. He provides an insightful critique of the practice of palliative sedation. The book makes a strong case that assisted dying complements hospice. By providing both, Oregon now has the best palliative-care system in America. Reading this book, above all, may help you or someone you care about navigate this strange landscape we call "end of life." It can be your gentle and informed guide to "a good death" in the age of hospice and high-tech medical intervention. Robert Orfali, the guru of client/server systems in the early days of Silicon Valley, co-authored three best-selling books that demystified the complexity of these mission-critical systems and made them understandable to a whole new generation of programmers. The books sold over a million copies. In this book, Robert uses his analytical skills to deconstruct the most complex system he has yet encountered: our modern end-of-life system. He wrote this book after helping his soulmate and coauthor, Jeri, navigate her death from ovarian cancer in 2009. The deep emotions Robert felt allowed him to look at how we die from a different perspective, another angle. Robert also wrote Grieving a Soulmate.

Anna Gaston is in jail. She can imagine the headlines-San Francisco heiress, 1934 California Artist of the Year, arrested. She is jostled into a jail cell in a dusty, tired town in North Dakota barely surviving the dust storms of the Great Depression. Sharing the cell with her best friend Britta, to whom she is no longer speaking, is humiliating enough, but to share that cell with four law-breaking, rebel farmers, and a Standing Rock Sioux Indian was ludicrous. It all began with an earthquake in San Francisco-just a simple earthquake. Then came the tedious train ride east. Then the arrest. Anna, up to this point, had lived her life as an open book, but from this night on, her life-her very identity, would be riddled with secrecy and complicated by life-altering, even life-threatening events. The irony of it all was she willingly allowed it to happen. Huldre is a moving and tumultuous novel steeped in European traditions, complicated by new-found prejudices of the 1930s in America. It unravels the journey of five young adults from diverse cultures-the hidden ones-whose lives collide in a most unlikely place. Their circumstances threaten to derail their dreams and spin them in directions they never could have imagined. Each has a secret impossible to keep-a secret capable of destroying lives. Secrets that could kill. "You will laugh and cry your way through Huldre: Journey of the Hidden Ones, navigating your way through a tapestry of places and events seasoned with 1930s culture, humor, and suspense. A good read." "Huldre is a feel-good, cry-a-little, laugh-a-lot book for adults. If you've ever kept a secret for a good reason, you have to read this."
"If you enjoy animal stories as much as I do, you're in for a great read. . . . You'll witness the health and happiness of these animals being transformed through the hands and heart of Briah Anson and her passionate application of Rolfing(R) Structural Integration. . . . It's an incredible menagerie: cats, dogs, and horses, as well as guinea pigs, llamas, eagles, an owl, a rooster, a cougar, and, perhaps most intriguing of all, an up close and personal encounter with a wild moose named Mike." Paul Schurke, Outdoor adventurer and educator; coauthor with Will Steger of North to the Pole and author of Bering Bridge: The Soviet-American Expedition from Siberia to Alaska; Director, Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge and Arctic Adventures, Ely, Minnesota "As Briah Anson's collection of nonhuman patients clearly demonstrate, Rolfing(R) Structural Integration isn't just for people, though a person's appreciation of its benefits for themselves often leads to an interest in trying this form of body work on their animals. . . . Each animal's emotional and locomotor response to Rolfing described in this book strongly suggests a true and sustained benefit." Julia H. Wilson, DVM, Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine; Associate Professor, Large Animal Medicine, College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota "Briah Anson shares her experience, insight, and her love for all creatures in these amazing stories of her quest for healing through Rolfing(R). . . . After each session, the ravages of [the eagles'] permanent disabilities seemed to have less influence on their performance. . . . The Rolfing sessions improved their overall disposition and health. . . . I'm grateful to Briah for her extensive dedication and the volunteering of her time and talent given to the eagles at the National Eagle Center." MaryBeth Garrigan, Executive Director of Eagle Watch, Inc. (2000-05); Program and Development Director, National Eagle Center (2005-09), Wabasha, Minnesota "Rolfing(R) Structural Integration, a unique myofascial approach to assist the body in healing numerous musculoskeletal and other issues, is being introduced to the animal world through Briah Anson's fascinating book, Animal Healing. Through case reports, anecdotes, and stories from her pioneering practice applying Rolfing SI to animals, Briah offers convincing evidence that the benefits of this work may be applicable to animals as well. This book is an excellent introduction to Rolfing Structural Integration and its potential application to nonhuman animals. Allen M. Schoen, MS, DVM, Ph.D. (hon.); author, Kindred Spirits: How the Remarkable Bond between Humans and Animals Can Change the Way We Live and editor, Veterinary Acupuncture: Ancient Art to Modern Medicine
The book every lover should read. Grieving a Soulmate is unlike any book you've ever read, even though the story is universal. It's about the death of a lover. The book takes on this difficult and very personal topic with courage, out-of-the box thinking, and deep love. Ranging from the practical to the emotional--and frequently blending the two--Orfali's style of writing makes a difficult topic easier to manage. He writes in an easy style that is analytical, yet speaks from the heart. The content is thoughtprovoking, unique and original. It's your gentle and informed guide to the deep grieving that accompanies the death of a soulmate. This book should help you quickly overcome the red-hot pain of grief. It also tells you how to reconstruct your life, find meaning, and deal with the big existential issues from a secular perspective. It's a survival guide for the last stages in a soulmate relationship. Above all, however, Grieving a Soulmate is a love story. Robert Orfali and his soulmate of thirty years, Jeri, were both in the computer software field in the early days of Silicon Valley. They co-authored three best-selling software books and together went on several world tours to promote their technology. Jeri was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, in 1999, shortly after they moved to Hawaii. Jeri and Robert spent the next ten years fighting Jeri's cancer and learning how to live with it. Jeri even learned how to surf during her chemo years. She went from "Silicon Valley Executive Woman of the Year" to "Waikiki Surfer Chick." Jeri received one of the most moving surfer funerals ever. Her ashes are in the ocean at Waikiki.
Herein lies an early draft of Shakespeare's 'MacBeth' recently discovered behind the wall of a public lavatory in London. In this draft (called 'That Scottish Play'), MacBeth disappears during a fishing excursion on Loch Ness after encountering a certain local monster. A poor look-alike tinker named Max is then duped into assuming the role of the true MacBeth and must carry off the deception in both King Duncan's court and at home as the husband to Lady MacBeth. While Max struggles to maintain his own identity, plotters and schemers manipulate him toward their own ends. So begins the most talked about comedy of the year. 'A veritable witches' brew of hilarious pandemonium. Outrageously funny and provocative.' -The Wurstof Times 'The author parodies The Bard with reverential irreverence using every form of farce and satire, humor and wit imaginable. Viciously delicious and sublimely ridiculous.' -The Mortem Post 'A looking glass adventure into a Pythonesque land of lunacy and bedlam. Devastatingly absurd and wickedly witty.' -The Disassociated Press

What would you be willing to give up to discover the world beyond your front door? Three Grains of Wheat chronicles Greek island native Emmanuel Papasavas' journey of self-exploration. It is a journey of more than a few steps as he strips away the chaff of his former life as a wheat farmer's son in pursuit of a dream that leads him away from his family and everything he once knew. Picturesque Agios Isidoros - the small Greek village where plumbing was unheard of and money was a rare commodity - is where author Mike Papasavas began his life (and his memoir) more than sixty-five years ago. As a boy, Papasavas knew little except the ways of a wheat farmer's son. Even so, ingrained in him was a desire to discover something beyond his village, beyond his life as young, naïve Emmanuel. This yearning led him into the expansive world beyond where he would discover art, poetry, romance, friendships, and much more - though the quest would cost him his name. When he was twenty years old, Emmanuel - now known as Mike - barely saved enough money to buy a one-way ticket to Germany for the purpose of getting a visa...and a new life. But his journey to freedom is a rocky one, finding him up against several nearly insurmountable complications, homelessness and poverty, Mike learns to tackle each obstacle with humor and hope. For him, often times not knowing where he will sleep tonight, faith is his ultimate compass. Mike's determination paves the road toward adventures and misadventures that will forever change him in this culturally diverse travelogue peppered with entertaining stories, personal reflections, and heart-wrenching memories.
Fundamentally positive and health-centered in its outlook, the principled approach to leadership found in Seeds of Fire, Roots of Hope pulls from different theories and methods that can be used to correct negative misperceptions and to identify, model, and promote positive and productive behaviors in individuals, groups, or organizations. These insights are used by leaders to cultivate a sense of Spirit that guides evaluation and decision-making in an effort to improve outcomes. "There is tremendous freedom in knowing that the solutions organizations and communities seek to their problems already reside within these entities. By grounding our work in Spirit, we experience hope, inspiration, and the healing energy of community. The more we apply these principles to our work, the more we experience a widening of our circle of influence and support. This upward spiral of positive energy is the essence of transformation and why so many leaders are planting Seeds of Fire and growing Roots of Hope." - Jeff Linkenbach
Alfonso Cruz Espinosa's life was not an easy one but one supported by the rich cultural values of his Mexican ancestry. 'Fonso was born into the loving arms of his parents in 1927, in El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora, La Reina de Los Cielos y Los Angeles - Los Angeles, California - where his parents had settled after immigrating from Mexico. Following their own American dream, he and his family migrated from Los Angeles to the San Joaquin Valley of California. There they moved from labor camp to labor camp, following the crops and opportunities for work. Alfonso and his family faced the hardships many Depression-era workers encountered, multiplied by the fact that discrimination against non-white workers was blatant and widespread. Faced with leaving school at an early age to help support his family, Alfonso found it more and more difficult to work alongside his father in the sulfur-laden agricultural fields of the "Great Valley." Not only would he face a crisis that would mean the end to all his dreams, he would be in a battle for his very survival. A tale lovingly told by Espinosa's daughter, El Caracol is a beautiful testament to the strength and tenacity of the human spirit. A story of both tragedy and triumph, Alfonso's story is that of an everyday hero, simply standing up to be heard in the world. Full of the rich details of a loving family in harsh times, the result is both as simple, and as complex, as the spiral shell which shares its name.
"We are a nation of unhealthy people," writes author Valerie Whatley, PhD. From eating junk food to getting too little exercise, from toxic waste in our soil to a disconnect from the heavenly Father, we have a problem. What we need, Dr. Whatley suggests, is to accept responsibility for ourselves by walking the path toward healthy living, each and every day. Let's Eat in Green Pastures is a practical guide that points us in just that direction. Because physical health is largely dependent on spiritual health, the journey away from an unhealthy existence begins by building a solid relationship with Jesus Christ. In this way, Dr. Whatley tells us, we will "acquire the faith needed to accept [our] God-given gift of good health." As human beings, we are much like sheep in need of a shepherd. By evaluating our belief system and forming an intimate relationship with God, we take the first step toward achieving wellness. But what about maintaining robust physical health? This we can do by designing a healthful diet and exercise regimen that suits our own needs, thus avoiding health problems that are commonly triggered or controlled by diet and exercise. The book is divided into five eminently readable parts, each addressing a specific issue related to our well-being. While each part is valuable in its own right, perhaps the jewel in the crown is Part V: "My Favorite Family Recipes," a marvelous compendium of delicious, healthful recipes, created by Dr. Whatley's own family members. Filled with insightful information and engaging personal anecdotes, Let's Eat in Green Pastures leads the way toward good health with its unique brand of advice.
UPDATED AND REVISED JULY 2019The United States is coming apart at the seams. Hostilities between the parties to the national debate, substantially over the proper role of the federal government, are largely verbal rather than violent, but so they were before Fort Sumter was fired upon. The national debate is growing increasingly hostile, and a second Civil War at some time in our future cannot be ruled out.We are no longer united as a people, but rather are divided into two warring camps, labeled roughly as Democrats and Republicans. We are dispersed throughout the land, it is true, but we also are clustered by region, as clearly shown by the Presidential election results of the early 21st Century, and by the map on the cover of this book. It is time to consider the possibility that these united states should be untied, in order that we may live as civil neighbors, rather than fractiously under one roof pretending to be a family. There is another divide in the country that has not been bridged, in spite of many efforts, and that many say is growing deeper and wider. The legacy of slavery and racism and segregation has left many (though certainly not all, and perhaps not most) African-Americans disaffected and unhappy with the country in which they find themselves. The reparations proposal presented in this book may provide the means for voluntary separation of these reluctant citizens into a new land of true self-determination. It is a dramatic and even drastic proposal, to be sure, but a wound that never heals eventually is fatal.
"Growing Up Stories" is a quartet of humorous short stories of life as seen through the eyes of a poor, Black, pre-school youngster growing up in 1930s and 1940s segregated Oklahoma. This book is absolutely delightful reading for youthful readers and those who are young at heart. It provides educational background for those young folks who know very little about what life was like "way back when." For more senior readers it offers a nostalgic flash back to a time when life was simpler.
When I first wrote Sidewalk Strategies, my goal was to provide people who were interested in grassroots organizing an inside look at what it takes to successfully organize. This new edition retells some of the important lessons learned from years of organizing and adds new stories and examples to inspire a new generation of activists. Today more people are interested in organizing than ever before. And wow, do they need to be. Donald Trump and his followers have wreaked unprecedented damage to our democracy, to the environment, and to communities across the country. Repairing the damage to our country and our democratic institutions will take great organizing and it is going to take a lot of hard and sustained work, long after Trump exits (finally) from office. The damage won't be undone by winning an election or two. It will take many battles on many fronts. And it is going to take a lot of well-trained organizers who can inspire others to get involved and take action. In this era of rapid mass communication, it is important to understand that successful organizing often takes years and that the lessons learned by the Labor activists in the 30's and the Civil Rights activists in the 60's are even more relevant today. Demonstrations and marches are important, but real change requires sustained effort over time. While our country and our institutions are resilient, there is too much money and power on one side and too little effective opposition on the other to be complacent. Organizers are needed to fight hatred, bigotry, racism, and inequality that exist throughout our country. As organizers we learn our work is never done. Since this book was written primarily for young people who may be interested in social justice, I included a section on reflections from organizers young and old. I am extremely grateful to each organizer who provided their insights." - Larry Tramutola
