April 18th, 1521. Martin Luther was on trial for believing the Scriptures were the ultimate authority for the Christian, rather than dogma developed by men. He is quoted as having said, "My conscience is captive to the Word of God" when asked to recant his writings. I've taken part of Luther's statement as my title because while I am thankful to God for myriad men in the Reformed Baptist world that have taught me much, I cannot claim full allegiance to a document written in the 17th century; it beingmostly right. The Word of God - alone! - demands and warrants our full allegiance. While we have disagreements, let Holy Writ be our foundation and wisdom as we test all things and hold to that which is good.In four parts, this book examines the history of Baptists and the distinctives that mark them; how Baptists fit into and should view reformed theology; a Baptist view of the covenants in Scripture; and what these theological and doctrinal concepts look like when practiced in a local church.Powerfully Written! An Excellent, Exciting Exposition of the Word of God! This book introduces and orients the reader to critical biblical/theological thinking -- with a clarity that fosters biblical thought and facilitates Bible comprehension.
"A Grandfather Teaches the Lord's Prayer" is a short play that gave birth to a book of the same name. The Idea was conceived while on a bike ride on the KATY Trail in Missouri. Considered by the author to be Missouri's largest prayer closet and it was there the idea and script for the play was created.Another ride conceived the inspiration to turn the play into a book. The Author, a former Children's Church Pastor, Puppeteer and script writer for skits was looking for a way to teach children lessons from the Bible that were longer than 2 minutes. The play and the book written for 10 and up has something for all ages including adults. It would be a great teaching tool to help their children and grandchildren learn about "The Lords' Prayer"

I can't be a single parent. There is no way," my mind rebelled. "I can't be both Mom and Dad. I can't pay all the bills, keep the house clean, buy the groceries, maintain the car and computer, discipline the kids, help with homework, spend time with the kids, go to church, do good news club, do sleepovers and I couldn't do anything else that my mind didn't conjure up in that moment of panic. The book of Ephesians is the pinnacle of theological doctrine of the Christian faith. It is a book of encouragement as Paul tells how people everywhere are to begin a new life in Christ with new standards and new relationships. Paul emphasizes the need for unity in the family of God, holiness in life, and one's responsibility at home and at work. Perhaps more than any other book in the Bible, Paul's letter tells of the wealth of the believer, the walk of the believer, and the warfare of the believer. He teaches you how to grow, how to walk, and how to fight. Your obligation as a believer is to live a life characterized by unity, holiness, love, wisdom, and perseverance. The central theme of this epistle is that you've been made worthy, now you must walk worthy. For sure, this is what Christianity is all about. Randall J.
