With much of the world in turmoil and our nation deeply divided, many are looking for a superhero "to save the day." In Shirlee Hall's new book, "Jesus the Ultimate Superhero," Hall says we need look no further than to scripture and ourselves. Drawing on Jesus's words and her own spiritual experiences, Hall writes how we can be the super heroes and heroines we seek."Jesus is the ultimate superhero and role model," says Hall. "By following his example of love and wisdom, we can awaken to our true identity and powers to fulfill our purpose of creating heaven on earth. We are the superheroes that can, and must, save ourselves and save the world."Several years ago after laying hands on a stranger, Hall was given the command to "Gather my Sheep!" and resurrect what it means to be a true follower of Jesus. For a long time, she ignored the command, essentially asking "Why me, Lord," until Hall realized she could not rest until she obeyed. The book "Jesus the Ultimate Superhero" is the result of Hall's commitment to share anew the words of Jesus and how, by following his example, we can find peace within and bring peace to the world.Shirlee Hall, in the service of Divine Love, is a reverend, teacher, workshop leader, spiritual consultant, healing practitioner, public speaker, and author. "Jesus the Ultimate Superhero" is her tenth book.
I grew up in Raleigh county, in a little town called Beaver, in the state of West Virginia. I lived on a 100 acre farm in a family of ordinary means. When I look back to my childhood I realize how fortunate I was to have clean air, clean water, vegetables from a thoroughly organic garden, fresh cow’s milk, butter, and buttermilk—fresh every day. We gave the hogs what was left from each day so we raised great pork. Recycling was a part of life, not something you had to work into your habit. Back then we didn’t have thrift shops like the Goodwill, as we wore our clothes so long that they weren’t fit for anyone else to wear. This is what it was like.

''Empowerment with knowledge,'' gives the patient an added advantage of taking control of their quest for health." - Diane Meyer, B.S., D.D.S.
Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth, the Messiah, over two thousand years ago. This event is so important that the world calculates the time of all other events based on it. But centuries before Jesus was born, the prophets of the Old Testament in the Bible spoke of his coming. In the centuries before Jesus'' birth, belief in the coming of the Messiah was widely held, and these prophecies were fulfilled in the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem. Too often today the true story of Jesus'' birth gets lost in the frantic Christmas sales messages that start earlier each year. "The Christmas Prophecies" was created to bring back some of the wonder that has been at the core of Christmas since its beginning. The story is told in verses quoted from the King James Bible (Authorized Version, 1769) with a modern text accompanying it and a glossary of terms that may be unfamiliar to modern readers. It is illustrated with classic paintings of the events by Raphael, Rembrandt, Del Sarto, Tintoretto, Bouguereau and many others, and case bound with full-color laminated covers.

The road to America from Spain was paved with promises. So began the journey of a few brave Spaniards and their exodus to the United States. But not all promises come true. Some promises are never achieved, while others are met with heartache. Others know truths that cannot be buried. Life was hard in Spain at the turn of the 20th century, but as so many learned, times were tough everywhere. Yet through it all, the migration and evolution of one family is filled with humor, laughter and an inherent love of life. These short stories are true and cover the journey made over one hundred years of history. Some stories are funny, others more poignant. Once settled in the USA, many Spanish traditions were upheld and are still strongly embedded in the lives of their descendants. Many of the stories take place in Tampa, Florida, where the cigar industry still strives to remain viable and has left its imprint on so many people. This family believes their memoirs should be embraced and told for future generations to remember.
