Dreaming at the Edges explores transgressions of the boundaries of the typical Western self as generated in and through dreams. Our dreams travel across an unbounded space-time continuum, freely transgressing the boundaries of atomistic selfhood and object-oriented reality, playing within a fluid and permeable topography. Articles in this issue explore luminous disclosures appearing in liminal dream spaces: the transitional dreaming-into-waking state, the interiority-exteriority continuum, expansion and contraction within the elasticity of the subtle body, and mutually-interpenetrating intersubjectivity. Thus, the shimmering edges of the self appear illumined through the animating and radically-redefining landscapes of dreams.

The earth-human relationship is the most pressing and encompassing issue of our times. Visionary perspectives on the earth-human relationship are assembled in Earth Dreaming. A transpersonal approach highlights the possibilities of awakening to a new global consciousness. A mythic perspective tells, in the brevity of words and potency of images, the billion-years evolutionary journey of our planet. A depth psychological perspective perceives ecological complexes-points of deep environmental wounding that resonate into the human psyche. Still, our everyday existence provides openings to participatory kinship with the planet. The portal provided by our natural attachment to pets can extend to other non-human attachments. The vegetative world provides a portal to the evolutionary wisdom of interdependence and co-creation. The sensate capacities of our bodies offer a portal into an earth-embracing consciousness. In the portal provided by nighttime dreaming, three types of earth dreams appear: those restoring psychic kinship between human and earth, those asking us to witness earth's destruction, and those pointing towards earth healing. Dreams, expressions of pure nature, offer inspiration during this dark, chaotic phase of decay in Western civilization.

The startling array of upheavals during 2020-a spreading global pandemic; policy brutality, racial tensions and social unrest; the rise in autocratic leaders worldwide; the undermining of confidence in the American democratic process of elections; and the ongoing but escalating threat of ecological collapse-together contribute to a pervasive atmosphere of uncertainty, depression, and even despair about the future. In response to the many cracks appearing in the edifice of Western as well as other political systems, the next ReVision issue will explore "places of hope" with contributions from visionary authors who see past the current onslaught of dismal news. The articles approach hope from perspectives both within Indigenous cosmologies and from within Western frameworks, with contributions from the following authors: Paul Callaghan, Michael Gray, Isoke Femi, Karen Jaenke, Jurgen Kremer, Lily Mendoza, Glenn Aparicio Parry, Helena Soholm, Leny Strobel, Fariba Bazaran and others.

In recent years the environmental challenges facing humankind have gained increased recognition, as have the psychological impacts of these global threats. In this special issue of ReVision, leading ecopsychologists take the next step, demonstrating how to foster ecological sensitivity, and not merely react to environmental crises. In theoretically rich, yet practical essays, readers learn how to become more intimate with nature in a range of settings-from semester-long "Natural Presence" geology classes in an urban university, to week-long "Diamond in the Rough" wilderness retreats, to fleeting experiences encountering nature in one's own backyard using a phenomenological approach. Contributors to this special double issue on ecopsychology seek to cultivate greater environmental awareness in a variety of ways, including - Drawing on personal experiences of relating more deeply with nature. - Enhancing mindfulness of the natural world through Buddhist practice, either as traditionally practiced or as merged with wilderness therapy. - Highlighting cultural influences on environmental identity. - Engaging with diverse approaches to research, including - among others - quantitative and qualitative studies across cultures, laboratory experiments in cognitive psychology, and literary analysis.
