Three teenage boys build a spaceship. They shoot into orbit, but meteorites make them crash on an unknown planet. They explore the planet and discover that the planet is a drop-off place for mental patients, misfits, and lifers from planetarium prisons. There are blood-driven vampires; witches with magic wands making roads in their fancy solar cars that are run by the two bright suns; every color Harley Davidson that runs on solar polar; and many colorful florescent flowers and giant Venus fly traps. It's a planet that never gets boring and never gets dark, filled with rare-looking creatures; confused people with evidence of government cover-ups; ghosts; and demons full of evil. There is continuous changing and nothing is ever the same. About the AuthorRobin Bass Ralph was born in Fort Worth, Texas. She put herself through two schools, graduating from Thomson Education Direct in 2004 as an artist and graduating from the Institute of Children's Literature in 2012 as a writer.
"Freq-Sync" technology has the potential to corrupt the very fabric of space/time when a single, perfect crystal grown in secret on the International Space Station becomes the key to that unlimited power. So who should control it? A military general about to go rogue, a tech industry billionaire, and a group of idealistic scientists all have an idea about that and all have motive when it is stolen from McK Inc. General Vasquez is demanding answers from Justin McKeage, the billionaire playboy tech wizard, who was the only one able to get it on and off the ISS. To help ease the General's concerns McKeage brings in a secretive agency renowned for resolving discreet "off-the-book" matters for the global elite, of course with over 300 years working as a team, Vasil and Masi, do have considerable experience. Are the General's growing suspicions of McKeage well founded? And what about the brilliant scientist who brought all these players together to create such a paradigm shifting technology in the first place? To Vasil and Masi it becomes clear things are not what they seem, prompting them to reinterpret their mission, but is anyone safe? Even a 700 year old vampire and a wayward goddess might not be a match for "The God Complex." Books are written. Sometimes people write the book; other times, something comes through the person. The question becomes, "what comes through?" Many writers, artists, musicians have recognized this distinction, and most have been at a loss to describe it, although they know and sense the "something." Perhaps in the reading, or the listening, we also connect to the "something," and in the connection, there is a shift in mood, awareness, and state of being. David MacDonald trusts that, in the reading of The Meeting Place, readers will connect with the "something" and that each time readers embrace it, they will leave with something more of themselves.About the AuthorDavid MacDonald was born in Scotland in 1950. A co-founder of Scotland's first organic restaurant in 1970, he moved to Lake Tahoe in 1973. After his first experience with Rolfing, he has devoted himself to the healing arts and sciences. He has been married to Kathleen for thirty-seven years, and they have a twenty-seven-year-old son, Ossian, who works in the family healing center.www.renotahoerolfing.com
The minefield that is public school administration is littered with the bleached bones of both new and established principals who could not successfully traverse the period between their first day as a principal to their retirement party. During that time, you will be a high-wire aerialist, traversing the wire from the beginning of your career, as you step off the platform and onto the wire-high above the ground, until you step off the wire at the other end and onto the platform that is retirement. As you place one foot in front of another you are, in most cases and in most situations, alone. As you look at the long, thin strand of wire ahead of you, is that grease you see and who the hell put that there? Knowing where the high-wire is greased will allow you to successfully grow old on the high-wire. Success can simply mean making it to retirement. However, success can also mean (and should mean) facilitating the creation of a school that fully supports student learning and teacher growth. You choose. It is your career; it is your high-wire. Emilia Casillas has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She believes faith is an intangible muscle that can be developed to become a more stable and healthier soul. But her spiritual life was not always so grounded. It all started at the early age of five. She held on to a shameful secret deep in herself for many years. She swore to herself that she would take it to the grave, where no living soul could ever find out. As Casillas struggled to find freedom from her past, due to the abuse she experienced, her battles with feelings of entrapment, her fears, and social anxiety got out of control. Such feelings of entrapment lead Emilia to the arms of Jesus Christ, her savior. On this path her faith began to soar higher than ever before. The sudden grace of her heavenly father began to manifest in her life. God's hand was at work day and night, healing the broken pieces from her mind, heart, and emotions that no self-help book or counselor could ever do. Through the years, Emilia's relationship with her omnipresent best friend, Jesus, has become a daily, tangible force in her life. There is a power in prayer. Jesus stated all you need is faith the size of one mustard seed. She likes to say, "You only need one mustard seed to make a whole lot of mustard." Spending time in God's word is never time wasted. Every trial leads to a testimony. In the Bible, the book of Romans 12:2, it says, "Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." The life struggle is challenging, but so much more is your faith, because "Jesus restores stronger than your past."About the AuthorAuthor Emilia Casillas attends the Cause Church in Brea, California, hosted by Pastors Bob and Sherry Reeves. She works as a massage therapist in the city of Whittier.
