"Ryan Hudson's debut children's book, The Kingdom of Too Many Kings, is a subtly allegorical tale delving into the true meaning of community as outlined in scripture. Through imagery-laden, sense-of-place masterful storytelling, Hudson reveals what happens when we rely on a human flesh/works' mentality over a trust and faith in a good God. The message is age-old, yet relatively profound, regarding how we stray impatiently from our Beloved, yet He showers his people with grace upon grace."Deena C. The Tales From The Lightwatch are stories which have been curated and protected by the ancient guardians of the history of Alterra, commonly known as the Lightwatch. Not much is known about the Lightwatch, as they preferred to record the stories of others rather than their own. But what we do know of them is that they were organized to spread the light of storytelling by the wizard Thistlebrand after the events which came to be known as the Dream War. The stories gathered and told by the Lightwatch were originally intended to teach and embolden people from all walks of life. These guardians viewed the power of stories as light, providing both history as well as much needed insight into the future. But as the years passed and wars and dragons swept through Alterra, fewer people had time for far off tales about Dreamlords, foul beasts, and talking birds. And so the stories and the mysterious characters which spread them were viewed with skepticism. But the Lightwatch still continued their work, recording the stories of Alterra and telling them to those who would offer them an open ear.
