'I have long regarded the NRSV as the gold standard of English Bible translation. . . This edition's care over word choices and language makes it very appropriate for reading aloud and for personal Bible reading or use in Bible study groups.'Steve Walton, Professor of New Testament, Trinity College, Bristol Acclaimed by both biblical scholars and general readers as the most reliable English Bible available, the New Revised Standard Version follows in the great tradition of the King James Version in being true to the original meaning of the text while conveying it in a dignified style that speaks powerfully to today's readers. Now with British spelling, grammar and punctuation, and with over 20,000 updates and enhancements to the text, this is the first comprehensive revision of the NRSV since it was published in 1989. 'The new British version of the NRSVue. . . reflects the latest scholarship while being sensitive to cultural changes on issues such as gender, race and disability. It also echoes a more distinctly English tradition which will be welcome to many who are the cultural descendants of those who still treasure the King James Version.'Angela Tilby, Canon Emeritus of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford 'Thirty years of advances in textual analysis make it more accurate than any other translation, and now its sensitive rendering into elegant and inclusive British English ensures a smoother and more rewarding reading experience for millions of English speakers, both in the UK and around the world. All of which means the NRSVue now stands at the pinnacle of English Bible translations.'Emma Ineson, Bishop of Kensington, London 'The finest English Bible we have today.'Richard J. Foster, theologian and writer
The Malines Conversations are often described as a precursor to the theological dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion initiated after the Second Vatican Council. The fruit of a friendship between a French priest and an English aristocrat, Cardinal Mercier's initial invitation in 1921 to a group of thinkers from both communions led to several rounds of discussion focused on issues that have long divided Catholics and Anglicans.Since 2013, an informal and international group of Anglican and Catholic friends, known as the Malines Conversations Group, has been meeting annually for discussion and fellowship. This volume represents the fruit of some of these conversations. The informal nature of the group allows for wide-ranging interrogation of diverse topics. The discussions acted as a kind of theological laboratory, enabling us to explore afresh some of the issues at stake both between and within our churches. This volume of essays includes contributions from sacramental theologians, liturgists, ecclesiologists, historians and philosophers. Most are actively involved in Christian ministry.Interspersed throughout are very short reflections from other theologians and Church leaders who have participated in the conversations as guests over the last decade. In the words of Rowan Williams' epilogue, the hope and prayer of the contributors is that 'this celebration and exploration of the heritage of Malines [might] give us again the grace of being surprised by the gift of Catholic communion.'

Sometimes we choose change, sometimes change is thrust upon us. This is a book that will help you embrace difference - the differences you were born with, the differences between the past 'you' and the 'you' you are becoming and importantly, the differences in those around us. Livi Deane was diagnosed with retinoblastoma at 12-years-old. At the time, this made her only the second person in the UK to be diagnosed with this cancer over the age of five. Livi knew she was different as a child undergoing sixteen rounds of chemotherapy. She knew she was different when the treatment could not save one of her eyes and she started wearing a prosthetic. And, when she bravely shared photos of her baring her empty eye socket online, Livi knew she wasn't the only person who felt different from those around them. Here, she tells her story but also how she has learned to truly celebrate difference, going on to grace the pages of Vogue and other household outlets in her campaigning to really make a difference in the world.
